Garry Lyon - looked very angry

jumbo returns

Recommended Posts

Anyone see Garry Lyon on Foxfooty geeing up the team for the 2nd half?

Even though he was dressed innocuously in a Demon top, he looked focussed and angry like he did in the good ol' days...

Does anyone think he'll get a sniff and relent? Personally, I'd love to see a Lyon/Viney combination - two of the toughest, uncompromising players ever to wear a Dees jumper.

If this happens and they woo Junior back....sorry, just a fantasy.

Was thinking the same thing when they said it on radio. Would love it to happen. Still very much think we have to keep Viney in a coaching role at the club.

He is one year into a 5 year contract as a development coach.

He'll be around.

But I think he realises he isn't the person to be in charge.

Lucky if there was 11K.

I was embarrassed when we scored compared to when the Tiges scored - the difference in crowd noise was phenomenal. I'd say of the 36k who rocked up, literally one third were Melbourne supporters. Pathetic. Don't know how the Tigers supporters got the title as the biggest bandwagoners in the comp.

Hahaha Garry looked like he was ready to deck Hutchy after calling him on referring to Melbourne's head coach selection process as being "variable", purely because it hadn't been made public and Hutchy knew nothing of it.

Also, Lyon said there was a board meeting today, and some details will be made public tomorrow.

I think probably an announcement about sponsorship too, based on what Schwab said on Sunday at a prematch event.

($1.9mil for the back of the jumper - no front sponsor signed as yet).

Surely they wouldn't reveal a new sponsor while there is 2 more games in the season with the current ones still paying for the exposure.

Yeah, I thought the same, but I'm pretty sure Schwab said on Sunday we'd be hearing something about it in the news in the next week.

Spot on. I was disgusted with the lack of people there. People may whinge about the time-slot, seriously harden up. Couldn't pick a better game to go too, Beautiful day, at the G against a team were we really should have won.

Whenever Richmond kicked a goal in the clutch the noise was deafening, when we did it was polite clapping and a couple of shouts.

Viney and Lyon. Two guys how have both come out and said multiple times that they don't want the position.

I would prefer someone who wants the position.

Spot on. But we need Both of them around the Club OFFICIALLY, & in Power positions.

Lyon as Pres after Jimma.... Jimma to Patron.

I'm starting to think we should go after Balmey, to bring his experience back.. We gave him a good AFL start.

We need Todd to do what he thinks he's best suited to.

After the tripe that has been served up this year i don't blame a few people for dropping off...The season is over...If Richmond fans get excited about finishing 9th again good luck to them.

This club will improve, but it won't be this year....and the crowds will build.....A lot will depend on the next coach appointment

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well …

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
