Tom Scully

WTF?? Because of how you are going about it... just a simple "he is probably just still getting treatment" would have done it, but as soon as you mention Scully around here you are shot down with fast witted replies, a question about any other would have got a normal response.

I mentioned THREE times the fact that he was probably still getting treated, but the discussion continued with "he should have been there even if he was in the middle of a cardiac arrest". Seriously?

No, it was an account of a far more probable explanation than your idiotic, irrational and frankly boring need to turn anything Scully related into a negative.

Move on and just wait patiently until this contract issue is resolved. You're boring everyone half to death with this repeated [censored].

You don't know more than any of us on this matter, in fact, you probably know less, so just shut the hell up about it until you have something new and proven to add, and stop negatively portraying a MELBOURNE FOOTBALLER (and yes, he is still a Melbourne footballer).

Several other people asked the question. If it was just me, you might have a point.

It's like 1984 in here sometimes ...

didn't even get close to a laugh, crap and worthless post.

And yours wasn't ?

Your first post straight up was in reply to RR's post :

Wasn't in the circle singing the club song after the win. Did anyone else notice this?

Yep, already on the plane to Western Sydney. Or maybe just getting treatment in the rooms on his injured shoulder, while the boys sang the song in the cool room

Had to add in the crap, just asked why he wasn't there..

And yours wasn't ?

??? Where did I try to get a laugh, did that hurt a little? You attempt at humor just didn't do it for me, move along.

Did any one notice that bailey wasnt in the room when the song was sung? just saying

move along.

Please.....

Did any one notice that bailey wasnt in the room when the song was sung? just saying

OMFG I'M GOING TO BED

RR has been sprouting negative crap about Scully for 6 months now. He clearly posted about Scully not singing the song as an indication that his views on Scully have been vindicated. My sarcastic add on was definitely deserved, but it takes nothing away from the rational explanation that followed.

Yet, here we are, talking about a kid who is clearly injured, clearly wasn't around where the song was sung, and is now being questioned about it by supporters who spent the night on the couch eating chips.

If you can't put 2 and 2 together and work out what happened fine, but if I give you the answer and tell you it's 4 and then you argue that I'm probably going to GWS with my superior math skills, then I give up.

Please.....

Don't like the last word much do you?

Your profile name is apt because that's how I feel when I read your posts.

I opened a thread just asking why Scully wasn't singing the song and thought maybe i'd get some inside info on whether his injury was worse than it looked??? That is all! It was deleted. I simply asked would it have been deleted or generated such a response had it been another player. Everyone is just so bloody defensive when Scully is mentioned.

I think the thing i took out of tonight with Scully is that we are all getting far too caught up in how important hes situation is to us as a club. Sure he is gunna be a fine player and i would much prefer he stays with us , but he is one of many fine young players at the moment and others are doing just as well(Tapscott for one) . We will do well without him if it comes to that....

If you'll let me (have a "last word"), while I didn't delete your thread I would image that given all the stuff he is generating (both good and bad) the logic behind closing it was to keep all arguments in the same place and keep the forum clean. All I was doing earlier was the same thing, trying stop arguments not related to the thread or that get personal. I don't think there would have been anything malicious in what was done.

And as for whether if it had been another player would the same reaction occurred? Probably not, but then again no other player on the list is creating such a [censored] storm amongst our members.

Scully for better or worse, is doing this now. Your thread may have been an innocent question but that doesn't guarantee that all that respond have the same simple agenda.

Please don't look for conspiracies as I am sure that is all there is to it.

Two years isn't arbitrary at all. Drafted players are given a mandatory 2year contract as a minimum. The goal was to protect these players - who have only played two seasons as they should have since being drafted.

Yip I know that ... but why dont you protect players that where drafted 3 years ago, why dont you protect players drafted 4 years ago etc ... ahhhh yes let me guess?

Why protect a player that has had 1 contract ... why not 2 contracts, why not 3? etc ... ahhhh yes let me guess?

Why pick 2 years what is the logic? The other clubs would have seen thru it in 20 seconds. The "goal" was not a "goal" at all ... it was suggested to favour some existing side over another ...

The only far way to determine is if they dont have a contract. Its not the AFL fault or our fault we do not have players contracted. Players can extended at any time for any period.

The committee recognised the possibility ... hence improved the compensation two main criteria ... age & salary paid by raider. Where in reality you are getting paid for "blue sky" .. nothing else would have got up.

Would've done better without him tonight, apart from the courage, he was rubbish.

Trengove is a class above.

19 year old copping a tight Kane Cornes tag... jeezus this site frustrates me sometimes.

Get a clue.

Anyone who can't see he's going to be a future star must be blind or have no ability to identify talent and star quality

With all due respect the pressure of the last week must be immense ... pressure can play amazing games with your mind.

the people criticising Scully's game tonight (or last week for that matter) and his non-appearance for the song may still love the guy, they are just making an observation, and are entitled to do so. I expect him to do an air-guitar solo if we beat Hawthorn.

Yeah because I said all that. I stated a fact, he was in the top 3 worst on today, was a pig of a game.

Dumb handballs, sloppy frees, easily beaten by Kane who is having a very down year.

I am happy for Tom to put off talks to concentrate on footy, you might wanna play some good footy in the process though.

Sure he's going to be a very good player, but the more I see the more I question how high his star will rise.

Trengove is bonafide already, the media should be all over how good this kid is, instead we get what will Tom do? and G Lyon over exaggerating Scully running clips.

I'm a Scully fan (and his courage should be shown on repeat to some of the softies we have), but I believe he is overrated to date, and will call a shocker when I see one.

Couldn't agree more. Not fussed if Tom stays or goes,(hope he stays)definitely not worth the money offered by both factions.

If however we overpaid Tom and failed to keep Trengove or Watts,i'd cry myself to sleep every night and give the game away. After following this club for 50+ years without success, sometimes it is about certain players. If it isn't why bother at all, aside a flag.

I know the MFC is the closest it has been since 1964 to the ultimate prize.I just hope the stars align and we luck out before we are killed with rule changes and the AFL squandering $$$ on favourite love childs.

Spot on, the more i see of Trenners the more I'm convinced he will be the best player at he club, well equal best with Watts that is, he's got all the skills plus the toughness of Moloney and Jones.

It seems that he loves the club too and I can see him and Luke Tapscott tearing sides apart for many years to come.

I didn't watch all the game last night, I hate watching it on Television but I see Tom did his knee again, that doesn't look good for the future. Perhaps that's the end of him for the year if it's bad they have a duty to make sure he gets it right and not allow it to become chronic. I turned it on and off after half time so I'm not sure what or when it happened, can someone fill me in?

He will be a very good player, but he isn't worth the reported millions that GWS are apparently willing to pay for him. Moreover, he isn't the type of player that you build a team around which GWS need.

was a very good game for him to learn from. Didnt get his way and wasnt aloowed much space. Hes till tried , and tried..and tried. Didnt lower his head...admirable. His contributions were limited for sure. He'll need to adapt to thisas he'll become nmore and more hunted. Interestiing times for him ahead

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
