WJ I am one that believes we should get over this " a priority draft pick will fix everything" attitude and I still believe it.

Now that does not mean I don't think we deserve one or need the help provided.

It is the attitude that annoys me.

The MFC has bought us to this point the point.

The MFC chose the last two coaches and FD"s, we chose poorly at the draft table, we chose poor management.

It has taken us a decade to grind down to the worst list in the competition.

The competition owes us bugger all we have bought 95% of this on ourselves.

IMO it is going to take us at least another three years ( including 2014 ) to become even competitive with the top six sides.

The AFL will only put up with us until the end of the this TV contract as they need the games we provide.

If we have not dragged ourselves up by then we are in serious trouble for our very existence.

How many people will watch the Game tomorrow on Foxtel?

I suggest a few thousand. The broadcasters probably already see us as expendable.

The future does not look good to me.

Now you can say I am negative but in my opinion we are at deaths door

But the Grim Reaper is a Demon Supporter OD

Everything you say is why we need not 1 PP but many. This is about money to the game, the only thing we can hang our hat on.

I agree Redleg.

I just get annoyed that many think all we need is a priority pick and all will be well in the world.

In case you have not noticed in drives me crazy.

Was going to the Amos today and then suggested I might go to Essendon tomorrow.

No.1 wife gave me a rather angry look so punted for tomorrow.

With my luck that will mean Willie win today and Casey get a bath tomorrow.

I might change to the dogs our clash jumper is already red, white and blue.

So not a big shift

Seem like a side improving.

Could get on the wagon at the right time.

Perhaps we should amalgamate?

I agree that a PP won't solve all problems and maybe multiple PP's won't either, but we need them desperately as part of everything needed to mount a recovery. Good luck with recruiting, development and injuries are also part of the requirement.

I don't believe in luck however we have sure had more than our fair share of poor results with injury and selection etc.

If I did believe in good luck I would say we have not had any for a decade.

Congratulations Flo gger - a good post. The "lads" found some of those pretty faces quite fetching and exciting. In fact I'm slipping some valium into their tuckerbags.

BTW. That ends my praise and positivity.

I use that to dag "the lads".

That's a relief. I thought you might have used it for your recent Brazilian ...

real men have body hair.

most start shaving at 16 down this way.

and thats just the girls.

more facial hair down here than at an greek wedding.

Real men don't shave at all, whether with angle grinders, whippersnippers or other infernal devices. Hot water, fluffy white stuff and cold steel near one's throat first thing in the morning sounds like a pagan ritual that deserves to be abandoned.

Beards rule! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

No, I hadn't noticed

I think there is a lot of sentiment about the PP being the "square up" for the tanking fiasco ...

Bandwagon jumper  It seems that they learned from what we did to them in the MCG game last year, ie get a winning lead, go to sleep and sneak home by bee's [censored] :)

And what was the square up, for us being the only team investigated for tanking?

Not sure what you are getting at. I was saying that lots of Melbourne people seem to feel that we wore one over tanking (to say the very least), but when the chance came for the AFL to "square up", they didn't, which is why the lack of a PP causes more angst than it should.

I agree that others should have been investigated too, and that the AFL and consistent policy should never be mentioned in the same sentence ...

OD you know we both have similar views about the current playing list of the MFC.

IMO there is nothing more the club could do to turn this ship wreck around at this time.

A new experienced coaching staff, replacement of the majority of the board, including the Chairman as well as the removal of the CEO. Now it time to turn over most of the players list which will take time.

If the Club had not made these changes then I would agree it is the beginning of the end. But I believe the Club will be more competive over the next two or three season. Which does not mean they will actually win games as they are that bad its a joke.

The only way to determine a successful AFL football team is how many and what type of games the team does actually win. All other statistical data are just some BS someone made up to try and show how smart they are.

I have grown up supporting the underdog team so I have chosen well when being a Dees supporter and would love to see the Dees have a culture of consistantly winning the unwinnable game.

So I hope you can stick in there and see out these dark days. If not, we could just blame Bitter and Biff for all the bad luck and mismanagement at the MFC as they both appear to be a magnet for bad luck. Just look at where they both live to prove my case.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
