I was going to say something about that... along the lines of having ones cake and eating it too

Yeah, no point in saving banana cake -- carpe bananum and all that ...

Today I went to the football

I have no idea why

I need help

Ditto. I did think in the last quarter that OD and BB made much better choices for the weekend ...

Well my big weekend in Bendigo turned to nothing.

Five of us getting together.

Friday one was down with flu, one broke his arm Thursday night, third one had to visit wife in hospital after fall from a golf cart.

Yes you are reading correctly she fell out of golf cart.

So the two of us left standing called the weekend early Saturday morning.

After some discussion we are all on for next weekend.

There seems to be a bit of sadness around tonight did we lose on Saturday or something.

Sorry to hear it, OD, but you know the saying -- there is always next week!

It wouldn't surprise me if the new chairman posted on Demonland. I believe that it should be a prerequisite for any candidate to post here a minimum of 3 months before being considered for office. That and a ravenous desire to devour bananas.

If by "here" you mean on this thread, then no problem. On some of the others, I think three months would be akin to a sentence for daylight robbery ...

The problem is R and B none of us are getting any younger.

We starting talking about this two years ago there were six then!

It is on next weekend come hell or high water.

I hope this not a omen but I will be in Bendigo next weekend!

Sounds like it will be more enjoyable, even if we win by 100+. Any victory for us this season will be sweet, but soon forgotten; a weekend catching up with old mates will surely be something that lives in the memory for ever. Hence don't think of it as an omen, but the right decision.

That's the spirit! The Dees certainly provided the hell on the weekend ...

Oh I am sure it is the right decision R and B

I had a serious car crash this morning.

100% my fault, inattention.

One metre further into the intersection and I think I would have been watching the Dees from another dimension.

Everyone walked away ok.

Puts the MFC in a different perspective.

Never forget to tell your loved ones you do!

Glad you are well enough to be at your keyboard telling us about it. It does put things in perspective though.

No good od, glad to see you are ok

I was having an angiogram whilst you were crashing cars

Have to go back in 10 days and get a new aortic valve (+ 1x bypass)

Not looking forward to it but have been expecting it for a few years

all the best dc.

Old Dee-you will have to stop posting in the car,and turn down the stereo.

Glad to hear you are well.I think we discussed insurance on this forum once so i take it you have some.

Daisycutter-a French philosopher once said"I would rather die young than compromise by eating Margarine".

Hope you are running on all chambers/valves soon.

I'm sure i'll go in a 4 cylinder and come out a V8

I wonder if this might be a strategy worth pursuing for the current list? Would asada approve?

Just a thought

They tried that with Cale but the doctors refused to operate because his chest was too small and they couldn't find his heart.

Everyone a big success

So Think positive dc.

And get better I need your witty lines.

PS just occurred to me dc!

what better avatar could you have

PPS I reckon you have a good case against the Dees, how much heart ache can one person take?

If worst comes to worst DC, perhaps one of my "lads" would make the ultimate sacrife and donate a valve. No guarantees of course.

Glad to hear you're OK OD. However, if you were in another dimension upward there would be better things to do than watch the dees. If you were in another dimension downward, watching the dees would be the equivalent of eternal damnation.

Glad to hear you are alright, OD. Certainly puts things in perspective. Good omen, I guess, as it seems that luck is on your side on the things that count.

thanks for the offer bbo, but one of burwood's finest porkers has already volunteered (with just a little coercion)

I hope it's not one of those old worn out "Blue rinse" porkers that voted for Jeff.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
