Interesting to see the Blues supporters saying Wellingham got off lightly and the Pies fans saying he was crucified. When Sylvia got his jaw broken off the ball and the perpetrator, Josh Kennedy wasn't even cited, no one said a thing.

Well guys it is 51 minutes from the big shut down hope I get to see you all soon.

Demonland forever it is much more fun than our actual team.

Sad but true.

Was anybody vital missing from the GHS Giants team that caused them to suffer such a horrible flogging at the weekend?

Their assistant recruiting officer was absent.

Apparently Michael Evans is on the way back and may have a run with Casey soon. I thought he could be a real chance and I hope we keep him next year, to give him that chance.

Michael "Pickles" Evans is a good chance to resume as early as this coming Saturday for the Casey development league team which plays Northern Blues at Cramer Street, Preston at the ungodly hour of 9.30am!

Good luck to him!

I am a fan of Evans and believe he is a good footballer. I hope he gets the chance next year to show us.

I have little idea of his future worth Redleg due to injury etc I have seen so little of him.

You would have to wonder if he will make it given the injury he has had. Back injuries are not easily fixed long term.

But who knows if nothing else his return increases our depth and options which have seem very limited the last couple of months.

As you have said often will we ever recruit a player that does not get a serious injury in his first two years?

He is a kid with a bit of ability and I would hate to lose him, before he has a real chance to show us whether he can become a regular senior player. His first game last year was pretty good and most would have been excited by him.

We need Port and Dogs to win another game each if we are to keep our current drafting position. Port play depleted Bombers at home and news this morning is that Ryder has done a calf. Hopefully Port can win this one and then a loss in Darwin by us makes it a certainty as long as Dogs win one more or we don't win 4 more.

I am sorry to talk like this but I just want us to have the best chance at a quick rebuild. Like WC and Bombers we could turn it around quickly next year with some new midfield talent.

I have said elsewhere Redleg I reckon there is no hope of bridging the Gap we need to beat Port plus 3 other games to have a pray.

Port plus 2 is the absolute most I can see. Even then Port will probably beat GWS so no hope in my opinion.

What about my Dogs scenario? We win 3 and they lose all, some badly and we are above them.

Could this happen? GWS lose all remaining games and get GC pick 2 for an under 17 player plus some other part to the deal and then put the pressure on us for pick 3, for us to get JV second round, with us getting the second under 17 pick and maybe another part to the deal. GWS then get Whitfield, Grundy and Toumpas.

You could write a book on the permutations.

That is a better chance but we would still have to beat Port.

I struggle with more wins than 2 redleg.

Now Davey is out for the season does not improve our chances

My boy Evans gets 2 goals and 19 possies in limited time in his first game back.

How could I have forgotten the Captain- Jack Grimes.

Add Jamie Bennell.

I thought Evans was my boy.

Can't he be both of ours. I nominated him at the start of the season as a kid I thought could kick on and then next thing he was injured.

I hope Port and Dogs put me out of my misery and win next week. That means I can go to the footy from then and hope to win, as it won't change our ladder position and affect our draft picks.

I was defending him against people who wanted to delist him two years ago. I still reckon he has at least as much to offer us as Jordie Gysberts.

Bottom line is I bags'ed him first. You can still support him, but I'm first in line!

we can hope too that Port beat Lions at home later in season. Otherwise looks like it will be evens on wins and down to percentage

but if we do lose next week to port in darwin that will decide it

I keep telling you Redleg you are as safe as a church.

Port will beat us next weekend and I reckon we will struggle to beat both GWS and GCS.

I think there is a chance we could drop to second last by seasons end.

We are now seriously running out of player options.

The high light for me on Saturday was Green, a few more games like that and he might get one more year.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
