Ever the pessimist, I have no confidence about a win tonight.

I canโ€™t wait for the umpires to pull out a performance of the ages.

I just see everything going wrong for us.

Wish I had a different mentality and love to be shown wrong.

Real name revealed at last!

Oh the salty curmudgeon has reappeared.

Ok I held a Tribunal hearing and in typical AFL fashion, went against the evidence and made up a decision.

I have banned my self for 7 minutes.

I will not appeal, as Carlton lawyers are unavailable.

Just the other day I had the option of salty curmudgeon but went with the pastrami sandwich instead.

Red, do this thread a favour and ban those [censored] emoji illiteracies !!!

Oh ..... also ban yourself for using one.

But that would just make them illicit illiteracies. An illicit illiterate is basically our opponents tonight.

I'm alarmingly relaxed about this game. Positively oxymoronic in mood.

Whatever happens, I suspect we'll see them again in a few weeks, if you take my meaning.

Yes and I am not enjoying it.

We really have thrown away a great chance at another flag, with a problem we have had for weeks and weeks, poor goal kicking accuracy. Additionally, a failure to go defensive in the last 2-3 minutes and flood the backline, is a blight on our coaching and leadership.

We were in a PF with 1 minute to go, what a complete lack of understanding of the situation, we showed.

FMD !!! As soon as I sort out some staffing issues at The Manor I shall give my full attention to this thread.

I am considering mounting a coup against Redleg who is failing to provide any direction or leadership.

I am too busy self flagellating after our finals exit.

I am happy though to join your coup.

Do you even know how to coup? You canโ€™t coup yourself! Itโ€™s not a coup if youโ€™re joining in to overthrow yourself. Silly bugger.

Plenty of casks I hope.

Should I send the horse and cart to ferry you home to the manor, when the casks are empty?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
