We will win, all that is left is the size of the difference.

It only Collingwood, their size is extra small. While Melbourne is extra large. It not a fair comparison.

Daydream Believer was one of my favourite Monkees songs. In fact I’m humming the song as I write.

And it was a nice bottle of red.

My confidence is back to zero DF. This club has half a century history of disappointing fans and I see nothing that will change my mind. Every week I have been  waiting for yesterday's result. In previous weeks our improved skill level has won us games but yesterday we saw the MFC do the normal, lose a game that their skill level should have won by 10 goals. The tradition continues.

Seriously misplaced.

On the news and in the papers there’s been much ado about Geelong potentially losing 900k if no crowds at Friday’s game. Yet, I haven’t seen a scrap of reporting about our (twice as much) loss to date. I wouldn’t have known about it had I not read it on DL.

There a difference between home and away games and finals footy. We don't know how we will play in finals yet. But its not a bad thing to lose a few home and away games, as long as we keep beating Messydrugs and the Filth!

However our long term plan to win number 13 has been to wait 100 years since our last GF win. I still feel we are on track so no need to panic.

Uncle Bitter you need to change your music selection to the 21 century, otherwise people may consider you to be a old fart! We would not want that to happen as your picture makes you look so young.

Oh well they have worked out our game play! Bring on the 2022 AFL season as it is not looking good for us for the rest of 2021.

Don't panic.

We lost by under two goals, without another key forward, kicking badly for goal, losing the clearances, with several players badly out of form, our worst pressure half of the year and getting some poor umpiring, to a side that was desperate to win to make the 8.

We can get back to our best again.

Pity it will be after the 2021 AFL Grandfinal.

I think OD comments are sounding correct to me. Bring on the 2022 AFL season!

I am obviously older than i think.

There was a quiz show in the sixties called the Coles $64 question.

Top Prize was believe it or not 64 pounds.

So a difficult question was often referred to as the $64 question.

So my question to you I guess was when will we get back to our best?

Answer. When we get back to maximum effort and pressure, a settled competent forward line, good goal kicking and decent inside 50 disposal.

So as DF says 2022 with a ounce of luck.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
