Unfortunately Maple I will be away this austere weekend renewing my spiritual roots and restoring my tarnished faith. Bless. Thus, I will leave the beer soaked, politically incorrect abuse throwing at the G to Bitters and Biffen for now.

You are headed for Jerusalem Moons? The Stations of the Cross next Friday?

I'd imagine Shiel, Griffen, Ward, Smith, Coniglio if fit, Greene, Kelly, Whitfield, Palmer, Hoskin-Elliott are the main guys. They may throw in a high salaried, ordinary footballer, just to get the Dees fans going, if they have some injuries.

Now. A polite warning. Skirting with peril Red as we make NO mention of certain ones ;)

Well good evening one and all. As usual today finds your Uncle Bitter in a positive mood and fine spirits. I hope you all are as satisfied with the world as myself. I had a very uplifting morning at the Romsey Bible reading class ( The Lads booked me in) and I must say I feel cleansed and renewed!

I must add though, that, as an upright citizen of this fine board, I am surprised that some of my recent well meaning and informative posts have been either deleted or censored!!

Apparently there are Philistines and vandals among our fair number.

They must not have been ready for your level of enlightenment BBO.

such desecration of your artistic treasures reminds me of what isis did to palmyra, bbo

i wonder if you might be able to retrieve them from the way-back machine on the web. they should be preserved for posterity

I am afraid that the world is driving me to an existence where one is rarely sober.

Bitters, the finer styling and intricate musings of your posts are lost upon many in authority on this forum, (perhaps Dr Dick Hopping excluded). You might put yourself forward as a voluntary mod supervisor, another community service to add to your long list.

Moonie, I assume you are aware of the relationship between the words moderator and moderation.

I raise this not because of any concern that Uncle Bitters might be considered too immoderate in his many (ahem) tastes and behaviours but for the very opposite reason: to identify the possibility – fear, I suppose – that he might end up abandoning his immoderations altogether.

Do you really want that sort of future for Demonland?

i agree. spare the rod and spoil the brat. bitters is obviously in denial of his immoderations

I'd say something about BBO never sparing his rod but that pocketbook Freudian, Moonie would take it the wrong way.

Good Doctor I see your point but I think you might be overestimating Bitter's ability to moderate to any real effect. Mostly he'd be correcting poor English and encouraging jolly good floggings. He is never moderate.

A question of whether I'm overestimating or you're underestimating, Mr Shadow. Of course I'd like to think Uncle Bitters would confine himself to the techniques of correction he's familiar with, but I can't help but worry that one way or another he'll get ahead of himself. Then there'd be two of him, a situation surely to be feared.

While many appear to be having their bit of fun at their Uncle's expense I have been (fruitlessly) trying to track down Biffen - the most immoderate of all.

I allowed him to borrow some ..err ..specialist equipment of mine which has not been returned as agreed. He has subsequently boldly informed all that he attended a teenagers birthday party.

Now put those two facts together and you can see the urgency of my search.

Please have him contact me immediately.

BTW. Who is attending on Saturday?

Why would you do this in the first place?

You must either be a very, very rich man or you already have a substantial reserve of disinfectant.

Incorrect Choke! I am simply an overgenerous soul who just goes out of his way to help others out but is often taken advantage of.

PS. Yes I am very rich but I am quite modest about having a lavish property and driving a simple Merc.

You are a national treasure Mable. I hope the people of your native Cameroon recognise this!

Thanks Uncle Bitter.

Your navigation is a wee bit off. You went kind of askew after the Ca. Been enjoying a bit of that hollistic fruit juice again?

I'll be attending the game. After all it is part of my annual ritual to see how far away I am from the ground before I spot your outlandish attire.

By the by, what should I be looking out for on Saturday?

Well I don't want to disclose my choice of outfit as there are petty souls out there who will rush of to imitate me.

However, dare  I ask Mable  Mable ,will you be wearing traditional Cameroonian attire? It is rather fetching I must say!

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
