Important: Please Read: Advertising & Membership

Thanks for that Andy. Sadly for your advertisers, I had never even noticed the ads until I read your post and email. Concentrating too much on the footy I guess. In their current format, the ads don't worry me at all. Unlike commercial TV.

I just want to thank all of those people who have subscibed to a Demonland Annual or Lifetime Membership to remove the advertising banners from their accounts. The response has been overwhelming. Your generous contributions are greatly appreciated. For those who want to join please click the following link.

http://demonland.com...p=subscriptions

If you don't want to join please take the time out to check out our sponsors by clicking on the advertising banners on the top and bottom of each page.

You gotta do what you gotta do. They don't compromise the experience, so no biggy. Anyone who actually cares thinks too much.

Hi All,

The day that I thought would never come has arrived. It is very deep regret that I inform you that after 11 years Demonland will be using advertising banners on the site. After many years of out of pocket expenses and despite many generous donations I have finally turned to the dark side. I have attempted to make the Google Ad banners as discrete as they can be and attempted to let them blend in with the look and feel of the site. They will be at the top of each page under the main banner, the bottom of the page and after the first post on a page (in this instance there will be no top banner). I have blocked the more unsavoury forms of advertising such as Cosmetic Procedures & Body Modification, Dating, Drugs & Supplements, Get Rich Quick, Politics, Sex & Sexuality, Religion and Weightloss but some will obviously slip through the cracks. Since that makes up 99% of the internet I'm not sure what there is left to advertise.

For those who don't like the advertising banners I am offering a paid subscription based service that will remove the advertising banners from view whilst you are logged in. If there is enough interest I may offer a Members Only forum. This is not a cash grab and all money raised will go towards paying for and maintaining the site, the forum software as well as other associated costs. All remaining funds will be donated back to the footy club.

The costs for a Demonland.com membership is as follows:

Annual Demonland.com membership is $15 per year.

Lifetime Demonland.com membership is $40 for life. - You are also entitled to custom your own title (the wording under your avatar).

You can subscribed by clicking the Subscription tab under the main Demonland logo at the top of the page next to the Home tab and follow the prompts through to PayPal.

I understand that not everyone can afford this and membership is not required to sign up and read and post on the site. All I ask is that you occasionally look at the advertising and if something catches your fancy then by all means click on the link. Or you can just ignore it.

Thank you for your understanding.

Cheers and Go Dees,

Andy

Cheers Andy, well done.

What gives Demonland the best return? I'll go with whatever it is.

Obviously taking out a Demonland subscription is going to give a better and more instantaneous return but not everyone can afford the $15 (Annual) or $40 (Lifetime) fee to remove the ads when they are logged in so occasionally clicking on an ad that interests them is the way to go in that case.

Another shoutout to those that have joined up as a Life Member of Demonland in the past week.

Having had to pay for some site expenses in the past week or so these donations have really helped out.

How does one organise some advertising for the site?

Although in Queensland this can be taken advantage of for all demon fans..

I have an online pet store..

I've been umming and arring for a while about Demonland Membership.

But after this I think I've pretty much made my mind up.

Very clever guys. Advertising that's so bad it makes you want to buy a membership.

Cheque's in the mail.

Me too, I posted it on the help forum but have got nothing as yet.

Completely lost the mobile skin.

Seems to be all fixed mate, thanks for your efforts.

There seems to be something wrong with the "quick reply" box at the bottom of threads too, in the main skin, not the mobile one. Others have mentioned it to me and I have the same issue - pressing the "post" button causes nothing to happen, and you have to post using the "More Reply Options" (to bring up the full editor). The "Quote" buttons also don't work.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
