Firstly, I am more disppointed with today's performace than last week. Big call? Maybe, but that's how I honestly feel.

Out of today, and for the season to date, I have some things to voice, and welcome opinions.

* Aaron Davey HAS to be dropped. Simple as that. His attiude, body language, and his total play is pitiful, and has been all year. I don't want to hear this crap that he should be moved forward - even when he plays forward he has shown nothing. Make a stand Football Department, give him a number of weeks at Casey.

* One player that is on notice is Petterd. He was insipid today. There is a sickening amount of love on this site for him, but wake up people, he is one of our biggest front-runners, yet sadly, most of you don't see it. He is a Robbo 2.0, his 2nd efforts aren;t there, and he screams for free kicks that aren't there. When he decides to puull his head out of his a$$, he plays good footy, but like Robbo, that's not often enough.

* Michael Newton must not play a senior game for the Melbourne Football Club EVER again. His errors were too costly, and this is consistent with every game he has played for the club. He did bugger all today, and I cannot see how he should be played ahead of Gawn. I don't care what you think of our ÿouth policy"in regards to Gawn, he is fit, we are in injury strife, PLAY HIM.

* Matthew Bate = see Michael Newton. Bate is clogging up a spot on our list, and the change that I can see happen immediately is Bate out, Howe in.

* Liam Jurrah is on notice. While he is a frak of nature, he still needs to understand that the AFL requires a level of discipline. While it is not in his "nature"to be coached, there are still basics of footy that you need to show, and he doens't do those often enough.

* For those doubters, we WILL be a top 4 side in a couple of years. If both teams were full strength, we win easily today, simple. Jamar is the biggest loss our team has (hence my call to put Gawn in no matter what), we can't afford to cruise along the next 12 months hoping Russian doesn't break down again.

* I don't know if Bailey is the right coach, but that's not saying he isn't. I think the Club, which includes us supporters, should do whatever it takes to ensure Bailey's future ISN'T questioned until the end of the year. Having questions raised every second of the day about who should be coach, isn't the best thing for the Club, and a lot of you have yourself to blame. There is nothing the Club can do in the immediate future (this season I mean( that will turn our season around, so let's show support rather than the idiotic comments about "Bailey MUST be sacked immediately", blah, blah. I bet he wishes that he could have 1/2 those players back that are injured - I'm sure his end-of-season record would look a lot different if they were playing.

* Blease and Strauss NEED to be given games this year. If both those boys can play at least 6-8 games before the end of the season, we will go in to next season a better team. We saw today what a debutante can do that has been playing well at Casey, well, according to those in the know, Blease and Strauss should be given the opportunity. Maybe now that Tappy has done a hammy, it will open the door.

* I hope the Watts and Jones baggers can finally pull their heads out of their a$$es, because if we didn't have those 2 blokes for the plast few weeks, we'd be feeling a lot worse.

Pretty good summation there. All our young kids today had a real crack.

The Michael Newton experiment should be binned, he has a heart the size of a pea.

Educated supporters would not be calling for Bailey's head given the insipid display from our so called leadership group.

What is your reasoning that he was a bit harsh on Davey? Did you watch him at all? Shoulders slumped, walking not running back to position, mute, numerous mistakes with some directly resulting in goals. Shall I keep going?

Leaders are meant to do just that, lead. His bad body language sets a bad example for the kids, this = lack of leadership. Davey not speaking, not revving players up = lack of leadership. Add to that terrible form and you have a recipe for getting dropped to the 2s.

Look, I agree with every single word of this.

But to me our biggest problem in every game is that we don't play as a team.

Because we are not coached to play as a team. We are coached for "player development".

Saints today did so much holding and blocking off the ball, with varying degrees of legality. But they blocked for each other, covered for each other, backed each other up, played as a team. Other sides have worked out how to play them. FGS, it was even in the little paper yesterday. We decided we knew better, and wouldn't do all those things that other sides have done to beat them.

If we get a coach in 2012 who gets us to play as a team, whether it's Bailey or somebody else, this sort of crap will happen much less often.

I love Petty Cash but I have to agree. I noticed at the start of the third quarter, before the ball was bounced he had his hands on his hips, just standing there looking bored. It really stood out to me that he didn't look switched on. Thirty seconds later the ball came to him, he dropped an easy mark then did a lazy kick that was smothered. AFL footballers need to be switched on 100% if the time, it's only a little thing but it stood out.

Unless Davey shows something during the rest of the year I agree we should at least consider trading him. It could be a win-win situation if we can secure either a very high draft pick or a promising youngster from a club that is close to a premiership and has a stronger midfielder where Davey is not the first to be tagged. I would rather see a young guy get a chance after today's performance

I know stats are never a true indicator of a game however just brushing over some supercoach totals today suggests to me that our efficiency was very poor. For any of you that play the game would know supercoach is set up so that the key is hitting targets and basically a possession without efficiency gets you zero points. Today, it took until the 11th player (Matthew Warnock) to find someone with a SC score higher than that of their DT score (a general indicator of how efficient one has been). The saints all 7 of their top scorers had greater SC than DT.

I know stats and more specifically fantasy stats mean very little but without seeing the full stats of efficiency these ones tend to be a scary realisation. We put ourselves in far too many high pressure situations for ourselves and our mates, and miss simple kicking and handballing targets. We get angry, but you are not going to win a game of footy turning the ball over as much as we did. Michael Evans can be excused but our leaders lead only through voice, because on field actions particularly the last 2 weeks have been poor.

Yes opposition league clubs will pay highly to get a player that avoids the contest and cant handle tags. Definite bidding war.

Moloney has got tagged every week this year. Has 2 people stopping him at clearances but he puts his head down and has a crack. Davey thinks its all to hard and gives up.

Given the way the game is played, Davey if he maintains current form this year wont be bringing up much interest. I'd like to see the Club try and rejuvenate him before we fire sell him.

Pros from today:

- Gysberts is the real deal

- Amazing debut from Pickles

- Jetta took a step up

- Watts just keeps getting better

- Martin is a fair dinkum ruckman

- Sylvia looked out for blood

- Great to see Jordie Mac back in action

- Jones - every team needs one. Beyond reproach.

- Beamer (again).

Cons:

- Davey is a squib and must be dropped

- Newton is a squib and has had too many chances already

- Bate is simply not up to it

- Jurrah inconsistent

- Another low impact game from Ricky

- Another good player injured

We would have won if everyone came to play today. We simply aren't good enough to have passengers on the oval. I'm interested to see the response from Bailey. If he won't drop the squibs, then he has to share the blame.
