Reading some of the boys twitter it appears that Michael Juice Newton has broken his arm. Not sure if its serious but for someone who was apparently looking ok down back and surely on his last chance its not great.

Could you please be a bit more specific as to which of the boys is twittering that story?

Matthew Bate tweeted - "Good arvo at st kilda beach with @newto29 and his plastered arm. Both cooked!"

Michael Newton also tweeted about his arm

just got home from the beach, a bit of a lobster hoping i dont get a white hand from been in the cast! it already reeks!

Can anyone with Twitter tell him not to think about scratching it? :)

I was being facetious when I said tragedy. Although people don't say their arm is in plaster if it isn't.

Yeah i know, that's why i am interested. Michael didn't sound concerned at all..Strange???

sure, but you can usually tell if someone is flat or devastated. If juice wants a career he has to play this year.

Must have strained his wrist playing Playstation or something, couldn't see it was from over-exertion on the training track. In any case this is more of a set-back as opposed to tragedy. At least there is no chance of him hurting a colleague in the practice match.

You hate twitter because some people posted something about Michael's arm? wow I am hopeful its not serious because I for one (and I may be the only one)would like to see Newts deliver something this year.

Going by that above "Twitter Banter" it hardly sounds serious or a tragedy, but i dare say the papers will tell us more.

I hope not, he was playing in the practice drills, so he must have done something then. So, it can't be real bad at all if he's at the beach already. So I'm hopefull he'll be up 'n' about to try to resurect his career.

Bad luck for Juice. He really needed a solid pre-season to give him a good chance at playing at this level.

Hopefully he has a speedy recovery and can make the most of his rookie spot.

What I hate about Twitter is that people often read too much into SMS length pieces of information. Whole news stories are now written based on one-off Twitter quotes that often have no substance behind them or are just a passing thought of the person who writes them.

Yeh mate, spot on, last year when Wellman left Ricky Petterd wrote sumthin bout Frawley being [censored] off, he later had to clarify what he meant.

Exactly bro I just wish something inside his brain clicks ... ala Col Sylvia he is talented just not dedicated enough hoping this year he finally shows consistently what he can do.

I spoke with Juice briefly at training today and he confirmed to me that he has broken a very small bone in his wrist. I think he said it was called the Trapezium bone. He said he did it at the very end of Friday's training session and that he would be out of action for 6 weeks.

Have to agree Dazzle, for some reason lots of people have a soft spot for him as I do.... except I don't understand why I do at all. Just hope he realises his talent, maybe gets a bit of mongrel about him, realises that he is a fairly sized unit and starts to take the game for once!!

I thought moving him to the backline was a great move (even though it was an exhibition game) and he might be made accountable instead of roaming around looking lost like he usually does. Hopefully the backline creates some intensity in his game for once!

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
