This is great...each year we will get that little Bigger, and better.

Maybe we should start a 'Demon shop profit 2011' thread...

Throw some love to the non-members.

Fwiw, we surpassed 20,000 on the 21st-22nd January. It's tally on that date was 20,080.

Use that as some sort of benchmark. Throughout last Christmas break and January the tally did seem to stall - that might be expected though with many on holidays, etc.

thinking about getting a legends membership, although at 800+ it is quite steep. obviously it would be as a donation - im already a 17 game reserved seat member as well as MCC/MFC member. but i really cant think of a better way to spend some of my tax return. however, id certainly be looking at getting something of value out of this for myself... selfish i know.

does anyone have one of these memberships - and are they worth the coin?

I have one; When it was called the Presidents membership i upgraded my membership purely for Jimmy and the Debt Demolition - but there is no way could go back to any other membership level now.

It's definitely pricey, and it's definitely not the best value for money option available - but it is definitely the best.

The Presidents club luncheon is amazing, I will buy my Legends membership every year just for my passes to this. Gourmet food, free alcohol all day, and the exclusivity of it all is great (although it wont quite be the same without Pia Miller and her friends there anymore)

The passes to the change rooms and the Premium Members function are not extraordinarily exclusive features of the membership, but they do make your personal connection with the club (and other supporters) more intimate and i think that in general that is the aim of the membership, to bring you closer.

never got that email, ive renewed though, 10.41 a month isnt much to pay

I didn't get the email either but that's great news, assumed they weren't offering anything extra for signing up early this year.

Not that it changes anything for me, was going to renew early in the new year but the "Todd Viney returning to the club" announcement triggered an impulse decision. Was a fair bit poorer that week but still grinning.

Having recently re-located to London, I've just bought the International Membership with a GF Guarantee. Cost me $200 AUD, but well worth it to keep my consecutive years of membership at the Club !!

Come on Dees in 2011!!

Er Lions 29,048??? They had final figures last season of 26,779

With the startup of GC and their poor showing/mgmt last year I'd expect them to slip.

thats what they are showing on their web site

Jumped up to 17,541 members. 20k by Christmas is definitely a good target. Also, we're 1,931 members up on the same stage last year, which is fantastic.

3rd out of Vic clubs isn't bad...... although Ess aren't declaring their figures, but since you can't even buy a membership on their website, presumably they are less than us!

And what's going on at Geelong, less members than Gold coast......

We've surpassed what we were at 15th Dec last year. I think this time we might well surpass the 20,000 mark by Christmas.

Don't wanna put a dampener on it, but I think a part of that may be the promise to get memberships out by christmas.

Fingers crossed it's not.

Either way, it's still good for the club, because if they aren't monthly direct debit, the money is in the bank sooner rather than later.

I'd assume a team that's made the last four prelims and won two Grand Finals would have started late to only have reached those figures.

Today we are sitting on 17,820.

This time last year we were on 16,473.

Ahead by 1347

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
