Thoughts?

No chance although I love robert eddy great bloke too .. just does his role ... Geary a good player too neat skills .. Bit like Luke Ball just bad luck with a few injuries this year.. But in all honesty no chance to come to the dees

Already being discussed in the Warnock thread..

Why the hell would we want either one? Are they better than the first choice players we have already? Hell no. Are they better than the young players are going to be? Hell no. Why would you get rid of a good quality gorilla keeper for two players who will spend most of their time at Casey and be de-listed in two years?

Geary is better than Bartram.

Geary is better than Bartram.

Is he?

Dont think it will happen - Ross Lyon wouldnt give up Geary, and they obviously rate Eddy if he played in the Grand Finals (even though he wasn't great)

Ummn, thats what I thought as well.

I am not sure I get this trade at all. The ol' 2 for 1 deal means we have one less roster spot to use for draft picks. And on the topic of drafts picks, what is this business about a shuffling of picks? Better not have anything to do with a certain first rounder.

Warnock fills a need for the Saints, and although I am not ripping on Eddy/Geary I do not see how either player addresses a need for Melbourne. Maybe they push for a 22 spot, but so will the kids we already have making this deal a whopping head scratcher. If Warnock is to depart I would prefer it to be for a solid draft pick, allowing us to on trade the pick for a specific need, or to draft a player to fill a specific need.

Not saying this deal is bad for us, it just does not make sense.

Harrington has already stated that Warnock is off the trade table...

I don't necessarily think so.

said yes he was a required player in response to a question. what else could he say

but looks like he's probably staying

What a load of crock. St Kilda don't need Warnock, they need Geary's pace. And why would they play Eddy in both Grand Finals then trade him? And why would we want either player and give up a player we've said is required?

I seriouosly doubt that this will happen. Looks to be nothing more than something somebody made up.

I'm not saying it will happen, but I think Warnock may still go up for trade.

No, I'll have Stanley though, & plus some sweetener.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
