Triple M Hot Breakfast Advert

Firstly, I'll qualify this by saying I don't ever actually listen to triple M and I find Eddie irritating.

Not sure if anyone noticed it played during the ad break of the Stynes doco, but the advert runs through everything "Melbourne" naming about 50 different things that are quintessentially Melbourne with an associated image flashing up on screen.

Firstly I noticed the dees colours pop up a couple of times, but one of the things was "demons" and then when they got to "footy" they showed Nathan Jones kicking.

Nothing amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised and thought it worth mentioning.

We are certainly en vogue at the moment.

I noticed that too. Pleasant suprise...The Demon is waking no doubt.

Yes - the DEES made a couple of appearances in that promo. Great to see.

Yep I noticed that as well; and every time they mentioned football in general, i'm pretty sure almost each shot was from one of our games?

That's what I thought, but didn't know if I was imagining it or not.

Seemed like only about 6 footy things popped up, but 4 of them featured us, and even named us at one stage.

Nice change of pace, because in the recent past we've barely rated a mention.

Maybe it was done to run with Jim's Documentary...as an assistance for promotion.??

Good call.

George Patterson Y&R do in fact have Triple M as a client.

He's a valuable member of the board, that Russell.

It was brilliant.

Every shot involving footy that I remember had a Dees guernsey in it except for one shot of the pies cheer squad.

Nice pickup on the Howcroft angle :))) geez that must have irked Eddy lol gold

The public perception of this Grand Old Club is definitely changing :))

Saw it last night.

That shot of the Pies cheer squad would have been necessary just so Eddie would sign off on it for approval.

They probably decided we were the least offensive option. If they'd shown Carlton they'd have lost half their audience. And half of 37 gets you axed.

I pointed this this out to a friend also, its amazing what Jim has done for our club, image wise. He has made many stand tall, and no longer are we the forgotten club.

Best of all it's still running now so it's not just a Jimmy Doco advert.

Yes i have noticed that. Brilliant. We Are Melbourne.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
