What is Liam Jurrah's best position

I think the more one on ones Liam has within 40 metres from goal, the better, he's also extremely dangerous as a winger/ half forward flank.

I'd like to see him spend around 75% of his ground time leading out of the goalsquare and the rest closer to midfield alternating positions with the likes of Green, Pettard and Sylvia. with Watts playing the traditional CHF position with maybe 15-20% of his ground time in the goalsquare. I'd also look for Trengove resting in the goalsquare a bit more too- a role he was quite effective at in SANFL

Yep. We find someone with natural forward ability, we also find a swag of midfielders, but we put the forward in the midfield.

Jurrah is a natural forward

He reminds me of a tall version of Sean Charles who IMO was the most wasted natural talent i have seen play football in a demon jumper

As far as i am concerned Jurrah can play where he likes

We have seen flashes of brillance and the best is yet to come with a talent like Jurrah

Jurrah could be the most dangerous forward in the competition so long as we get our act together

A fit Jurrah would kick 2 goals a quarter playing for Geelong

Still convinced we are 2 more years away from being a flag threat though

Wona Watts Jurrah

With rotations such as Jurrah & Watts playing higher & Green & Pettard (+resting ruckman) playing deeper.

What makes Jurrah good is he plays like he is 10 in his mates backyard. He makes good decisions, and has amazing disposal. Injury free he should kick 40 - 50 goals next year. Also lets not forget that he has only played 17 games.

When Pettard is back in the team, you will see how good Jurrah really is as they will free each other up.

He needs to be near the goals. Even on an off day he is good for a couple and when he gets 100% fit he is going to be a horror match up for backmen: Get in front and he will stand on your head; get behind he will out lead you; go short and quick and he will kill you in the air; go tall and he will kill you at ground level.

I don't know what I would do as an opposition coach to minimise the damage he could do.

He also frees up other forwards because - not unlike the crowd - all eyes are on him when the ball gets into the 50.

And as for the forward line - don't forget Jack Fitzpatrick (they speak well of him at Casey).

Goodes is a monster with a big engine who can split packs

Jurrah is more the silky thoroughbred type who tends to play with finesse in burst mode - not the workhorse type

Thats not to say he couldn't have stints in midfield but more the occasional thing rather than fulltime
