Jurrah's Mark

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow supporters,

I am a painter, and whilst photo posters are excellent, if you want to get really serious, only a painting will do. I would be happy to accept commissions from any of you! It has so many fabulous facets to it, that I suspect I'll paint a version anyway(with the 'home' uniform and shorts in replacement) My avatar is in fact a 'front on' view of the Shaun Smith mark using artists models (it's a bit hard to see I know). It is one of a triptych....front on, TV side view, and opposite side view. They are 5 foot tall, acrylic on canvas. I've also done a couple of modern impressionistic portraits of Tom Wills, both very football specific. If anyone is interested in seeing them, I can provide the relevant link to www.flickr.com where they (and the Shaun Smith) are in much higher def.

I can't see G.Lyon's eyebrows

Good Stuff....

Cheers bud. Will be an interesting response.

It'll also show the MFC how much us supporters take pride in our heritage red and blue! Maybe Keyser Snooze will realise what the bigger picture is within the email soon... when he wakes up.

The Dees are all about "community" and there's no better way than for supporters to voice themselves and help make a difference in various areas of the club. Imagery is an important one. And forum's such as Demonland are fantastic whereby a community as a whole can rally together to get behind different causes.

So... got a rebuttal, Keyser Salad???

I admire your drum beating, but I find it amusing when you refer to our alternate strip with a Demon on it..as "un-demon" like. The alternate strip represents the Melbournefc whether you like it or not.

Nevertheless the email may well result in "eyes rolling all over the shop." Granted, you may receive a reply thanking you for your thoughts.

Do you have the same view on Russell Robertson's mark taken a few years ago in a NAB Cup opener against West Coast at Etihad ? It was also an alternate strip which contained white as well as a demon (even though not the same jumper from the weekend). A most memorable mark also. Perhaps you could re-paint that one too.

This is it:

Jurrah is forever getting the ball seemingly out of position...the way he moves.....its almost his trait.....I still remember the one he took over Baker last year and then showed him the ball. It was right in front of me and I was surrounded by Stkilda supporters...the look on their faces and Bakers was priceless.

RED AND THE BLUE!!! THE TEAM WE LOVE, THE TEAM OF THE RED AND THE BLUE.

:) Loved Robbo's mark also... and it was good that the jumper he wore was actually predominantly red and blue.

Like when Yze's ripper goal from the pocket was eliminated against Essendon fans voting for a Fletcher bomb at the Telstra Dome.

That should have been goal of the year.

I tried that countless amount of times from the same side (lefties > righties :P ), only 20 metres out and I think I've only done it once...with a good bounce.

And I've kicked bananas from behind the goals so I'm no newbie to it

Sorry, but the jumper back then was predominantly red and blue.

Currently... it's predominantly white and blue. :/

Fairly ridiculous email to send the club.

Eyes would have been rolling all over the shop.

Comic sans is fitting.

Keyser = [censored] is fitting. The guys is expressing his passion. Take note.

Hahaha I agree with KS.

It's a wanky email to send the club, but it depends on your stance on the matter.

I'd roll my eyes and I think most at the club would.

I'd be disappointed of they didn't.

I'm sure the club wouldn't roll their eyes, I'd be disappointed if they did. If a youngster or anyone else for that matter came to you with an idea good or bad would you roll your eyes ?? Ideas, passion and enthusiam should be meet with applause not contempt.

Yep, you're spot on.

And silly emails whingeing about a clash strip with a amateurish attempt to change the jumper colour should be met with a roll of the eyes.

It's embarrassing to think anyone would really care about what looks like a year 9 graphics assignment.

Bravo.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

2024 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed.
