The only consolation may be that if Hawks play this bad next week we'll be in with a chance to beat them which would keep our finals chance alive, but we'll have to win all our remaingin games now you would think to get in...

If we win tomorrow we will be playing the Hawks next week for 8th spot at the end of round 20 - percentage permitting.

Lets not leave the chance of us playing finals to other teams losing the games we need them to lose. Lets get there from winning all our games.

If Sydney win, it means we can't lose any game for the rest of the season, which is going to be a difficult task.

Hope won't be entirely lost. If Sydney win, they'll move to 40 points. We can win 3 out of 4 and finish on 42 points and beat them to the finals (though that assumes they lose their remaining 3 games).

Surprisingly enough, if Sydney holds on, and we beat Richmond, next week we could find ourselves level with Hawthorn with 2 games to go. Who would have imagined that after Round 1? Or even 2 weeks ago?

That relies on Melbounre winning all its other games. If we beat Hawthorn but lose one of the other games we could end up on equal points with Hawthorn so it would come down to percentage. Given thats the case next week is really Melbourne bet chance to influence its chances of the finals and I hope Sydney thrashes Hawthron now becuase it will help drag down their percentage (unless by some miracel they get up to win whcih would still be good for us). If we beat Hawthorn then I think we would be a far more credible claim to a spot in the eight

Who'd have thought that percentage would be important for us with a draw?

Currently Hawthorn's percentage is about 103%. Ours is 95%. So that's still a fair gap.

As for our road to a potential finals appearance, cliched or not, all we can do is beat whoever is in front of us.

And as great as it would be to make the final eight, to me, it is not the be all and end all.

We have had (& hopefully will continue to have) a great season, which lays a wonderful foundation for the next few years.

Of course it's not the be all and end all Queenc, and I, like everyone else am excited about the fact that it is Round 19 and we are still a chance of playing finals, but while we have a sniff I'll be still hoping like hell that we make it. It's a great feeling watching your team run around in September, expecially after the last couple of years we have experienced.

We really need to win every game from here to get in. Could afford to drop one, but that would mean relying on Sydney to drop the rest (they do have Freo at Freo, Bullies at Sydney and Brisbane at the Gabba, so it could come down to that last game).

Kangaroos have Saints next week which SHOULD be a loss, plus they have us in the last round, so I'm not concerned about them one bit (what I mean by that is that while they keep winning and making the current ladder look difficult for us, at some stage we will meet them and it's quite possible that it could be the match that determines 8th spot).

I'm not as confident todays as I was before teh Swans game yesterday - dirty bloody Hawthorn. Based on their performance yesterday it does give me more confidence going in to next weeks game against them.

North Melbourne...that's one team I just don't understand. Maybe it's their draw, I don't know, but they seem to have a huge amount of wins for a team that just isn't very good.
