Has Watts signed?

I may be wrong but the last I heard Jack had not yet signed on past this season. Is he in a similar situation to Ablett who I believe is going to GC. Has he signed on or is he too heading off with an anouncement made only at years end. Would love an update if anyone has one.

lol

OMG he's off to the Gold Coast.....

apparently the house McKenna bought for Petterd is being offered to Watts....

you could be on the money there!

The house is for Ablett.

Makes sense for Watts to wait until the end of the season before re-signing. If he can put in some good performances in the remaining matches, it will help him negotiate a bigger contract. I don't see him leaving.

Massive LOL at this thread...

We are talking about the same Jack Watts who considered not nominating for the draft for fear of having to move interstate? LOL!

I can't wait to see what you lot say if he becomes a Queenslander.

Pffft! Everybody knows it is Miller they are chasing.

I have it on good authority that neither Watts nor Ablett will be heading to the GC.

My belief is firmly Ablett to GC and the unsigned Watts??

You can believe what you like, I know Jack and he is not going anywhere END DISCUSSION.

Your source for this definite statement?? no indication yet from him or club that he intends signing, what do you know that no one else on this sight knows?? I intend to fully discuss this issue as I believe he is an important part of our future. If you don't want to contribute to the conversation, good night!

yeah i dont think hes going anywhere, i think if melbourne wanted to sign him before they would have. Melbourne has been on him way too long, can you you imagine the dog act if he leaves us. The reason why he is getting games at the moment is so we can fast forward his progress... for us...

is he signed so the fast track works for MFC??.. the club and Watts are silent on this matter, looks like the Ablett situation to me, I hope not!

It's difficult to see what your basis is for attacking people who aren't prepared to buy into your speculative hypothesis. If you've got some actual supporting information to bring to the table, let's see it. At least Petterd was seen in Brissy watching a GC game ...

To have a discussion, there needs to be something to discuss. Which isn't the case here. There is no "issue".

Not to mention ... yet another Jack Watts thread. Sheesh. Has the off-season started already?

*** Stupidest Thread of the Year Nomination

His manager is probably using the same tactics as Jamar's ... knowing that the more games Watts plays this year & the better form he displays the more leverage he will have in contract negotiations with the MFC.

When is the best time to sign a contract ... at the start of the year with 3 games and suspect form under your belt or after you have played 20 games kicked 20 odd goals and have the supporters excited?

Your source that he might be leaving or that Gold Coast are in discussion with him? What do you know that no one else on this sight knows?? Watts is out of contract and yet to sign a contract extension with MFC along with about a dozen or so other players. There's still about 12 weeks or so before we get to trade week, let alone when players have to nominate for the draft, Watts has plenty of time to sign.

At least with Petterd, Frawley & Bruce there had been reported interest from Gold Coast however this discussion about Watts is just speculation, you may as well alledge that's he's going to sign with the Melbourne Tigers in the NBL next season!

Nothing to worry about as far as Watts goes. I'm so confident he isn't going anywhere that if he does I'll take out a Gold Coast FC social club membership and attend all of their home matches even thought that will require me flying from Melbourne every week.

from today he wont want to go anywhere, he loves being out there with the boys from the looks of it :)

I could be totally wrong (and naive) but to me it's hard to imagine a young guy like Watts who appears to still be coming to terms with the fact that he's an AFL footballer would be at all interested in chasing the dollars or moving to a club in a different state.

you might need to save some money for your trips, no indication from the club he has signed. today at the tridents function was the ideal time for him to announce he is a demon for life. no such announcment... GC for Jack???

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
