It was shite, but the performance of the bombers also provides some perspective for all the panic merhcants.

Personally, I didn't enjoy our match against Adelaide, but I'm content with the outcome.

Unfortunately a shocking performance is not made less shocking by another team being equally inept.

Words like 'insipid' are too strong, but that is the trend.

Merely it was a timely reminder for those who treat every bad loss as if we are the only team bad enough to suffer them.

I agree. My impression is that a few things inside the Footy Dept. are not quite going to plan, and a little "tweaking" is needed-nothing drastic-but it looks like the other sides have us good and worked out right now.

So we have to work out new strategies.

The only assumption i am making is, that i am worried you are content with Insipid performances like the adelaide game, a game where Jack Trengove was directing senior players for part of the time.

Jack is class yes, but there are way too many passengers away from the MCG on our list-so to be content is just not right 25.

It's been that way for years.

Until JT is regularly giving directions we will continue to be poor.

Turning the corner involves these young kids becoming the players leading the way.

I am at peace with bad losses because I know & accept they will occur.

Ranting and raving won't change a thing.

It doesn't mean I am happy to accept consistently poor performances, merely that I understand the nature of improving as a football side.

Can't agree with that. Not all the Team is Young-we have many senior players in our current side.

Opposition sides all have young players too .

Our Team attitude is not right-10 years of losing on the road & you are content?

Maybe the players are like that because they know they can get away with it. "oh the supporters won't mind-they are content"

Major problem that has been there since Neita reired, is the lack of quality leadership in our senior group. I have got into heaps of arguments regarding this matter- but I repeat that I feel we are in very short demand .McDonald has turned out to be a good leader- on the field and off it. Green may make it- however, our leadership overall- I repeat IMO- is currently quite week.However, I have no doubt that with Jim Plunkett -ex Carlton taking the team on leadership issues over the last two years will indeed make the next bunch - more than adequate. Grimes, Trengove etc.. seem very matured young men for their age and definately show excellent personal skills both on & off the field already. This to be is what we lack right now- and again with development will be there shortly.To me- it was virtually not there against Adelaide.

Cause & Effect is exactly right-The Effect a bad Loss has on our younger kids when our Older "leaders" go missing is bad. The Effect being our young kids full of potential see Mediocre performances & bad Habits during a game creep in.

That is the Effect that worries me.

Taking into consideration the amount of injuries we have had this year to players we needed to put time into such as Jurrah, Tapscott, Blease etc..our development has still continued by playing 36 players at this time(hope I have counted correctly-if not someone will surely correct me) with still- Tapscott, McNamara, Maric, Jurrah - I think will mostly play games this year thus leaving only, Gawn, Fitzpatrick, Blease and Belly to not play a game this year.If one assumes that Bell may still play a game before leaving the club (I think- most probable) and Blease ,still a good chance -this would make it 42 players whom may play this year.This is quite an incredable amount of players given opportunities to be developed. Therefore, consistancy cannot be expected till we gain say, 26/28 players whom play together reguarly.This will happen over the next couple of years.

This above is part of our growing pain.
