Who would you have??

Andrew Bogut might be a handy ruckman but he probably earns more than our whole team

Went to high school with him and can say with good authority that he is an absolute sh*t bloke. Big bombers fan too. No thanks.

If i was going from players in the NBA, hard to go past LeBron James and Dwight Howard. LeBron on the ball switching thru half forward, and Howard in the ruck.

DEFINITELY.

Yao Ming anyone?

Pass - we don't need another ruckman with dodgy feet

If you could get in that time machine again & get us a Michael Jordan with 20 or so years wiped off the clock, that'd probably do

"Terrible" Terry Tate: Office Linebacker

He will add some much needed tackling pressure in our forward 50

Larry Fitzgerald from the ARIZONA CARDINALS and his teamate playing Safety Adrian Wilson! AWESOME!

In the wake of some big names comming across to AFL who would you take and why from other codes.

Let's pretend we dont have money issues either.

John Terry... Chelsea legend and pantsman. Also not a bad defender.

Well since we're going down the goofy path...

Darth Vader to play out of the square and help Jack... Look out for Jack to make him his [censored] with a disagreement at training one day.

The Joker (Ledger version) as defence coach. A bit of evil genius would be just the thing.

Mr Miyagi as development coach.

And lastly... Chuck Norris. He can come on for rotations for Jamar, and smash NicNat, Sandilands and Cox up and down the G. With his wang.

Jesus on a wing. Have a feeling he would move like R.Flower...

Gold.

Goes very well in the wet. Gets over the ground beautifully

You know Dwight Howard would dwarf Sandilands in the ruck and LeBron is a couple of cm taller than Jamar...

What an epic midfielder.

I wonder how he'd go head to head with Brent Harvey...

LeBron to me would be the perfect Pavlich-type big midfielder, switching thru CHF. Dominant beast!

Good call! Love this guy! He's a legend in our office. You wouldn't want to miss a training session with Terry in the team either.

Unfortunately, he would go to Geelong. Father-son rule.

Hahahahaha

Well, I'd take...uh...Jack Trengove and Tom Scully to start...

Indeed. An absolute freak athlete, would reach the top echelon in any sport he chose I think. Happens to be an excellent cricketer, but chose athletics instead.

jcb - funny :D

Another yep from me, he would even make the aboriginals look slow ha

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
