At quarter time

And no, we are not at all getting carried away.

If I see a Grimes to Scully to Trengove to Watts ball movement I will probably die from an overload of pleasure demon_cool.gif

We saw this for the most part last week.....think it was in the 3rd qtr. Grimes streamed out of defence, out to JT, out to Skull....I think it ALMOST ended with a Danny H mark, just spilled a wet ball!!

Bring it!

mate your 2 week allowance is ridiculous.

i take your point that some people are probably going to get dropped who dont deserve it but DB seems determined to give bennel, PJ and Hughes a crack at the top level. We arent a grand final chance just yet so good luck to all the blokes who arent naturally talented having a crack before some of the young kids come through.

Points for your last line, i liked that.

Edit - for the record, not including bennell as untalented, kid obviously has x factor skills.

Bennell indeed has the X-Factor!

I really like the way you've set a negative tone before he has even been named for a game.

Well done.

Im just trying to make the point that we need to keep our expectations in line, because the media wont.

Should do some headline predictions.

If Jack has a blinder: WATTS THAT? Jack watts answers critics.

If West Coast win: NAITANUI OMFG!!! etc...

Posted

Grimes punches the ball away from the Eagles forward line and towards the wing.....

NicNat picks up the ball and McKenzie lays a bone crunching tackle.......

Advantage called, Scully swoops on the loose ball and breaks away.......

Scully handpasses inside the corridor to the run of Trengove........

Trengove lowers the eyes and hits Jack Watts on a blistering lead.......

Watts lines up, relaxes the shoulders and puts through a goal.

DEMONS WIN!

I see it a bit differently...

Chip blankets Josh Kennedy, punching the ball away easily...

Ball takes an unkind bounce and ends up in the hands of Masten...

Who is scared to kick it and handballs to Ebert who just blindly throes it on his boot...

Jack Grimes takes a courageous mark going back with the flight of the ball...

Not paid! Grimes tackled and the ball spills free...

Picked up by Bruce who handballs to Garland's feet...

Picked up by Naitanui who is not sure what to do with it...

Crunched by McKenzie! Ball spills free again, scooped up by Scully...

He darts through the traffic and fires a handball releasing Trengove...

One bounce... 2 bounces... 3!...

Pinpoint delivery to Watts on a lead, 60m out takes it cleanly in the hands...

Plays on, sidesteps 1, then another...

Chip pass to Bate running back in on a back lead...

Who handpasses over the top of the corralling player to an unmarked Bennell in the goalsquare...

Goal! Dees by 54 points

(I think I enjoyed writing that too much)

So what happens in the next three quarters??!

Mate....yeah fair cop....maybe I should be a little more specific in my post. I would only be too happy to see Danny get some good game time. It's my main argument that Jack Watts should be played now....to get some continuity with the side and develop together.

I was more generalising on how others may get a game/a shot at the ones. Always easy to go with last in/last out...but again, it was no way meant a slight on the kid because I love how he goes about it and in crap conditions last week, he was super!

A 2 week allowance in any circumstance is hard to judge, but if he were to come out with donuts this week, he would be straight in line as an exclusion for one of the other kids I mentioned.

I for one hope this is not the case and kicks a bag!!

So, I might catch you at Casey one day soon!!

Cheers Mordja!!

$4 cans and steamed dimies...try and keep me away.

oh and the footy.....

yeaaaaah baby yeaaaaaah!

Half an hour before this thread goes into High Wattage!!!

Get him in Bails!

It's a little pathetic and a little greedy that we;re still so desperate for Watts when we have so many other great young kids to perve on right now.

Ah who am I kidding, bring him in... too many Jacks is never enough! wub.gif

Just because Cox and Natanui are our opponents doesn't mean we need PJ.

In fact, if you think PJ might be okay but maybe break-even or get beaten, we may as well sacrifice the second ruck role and try and exploit NN's awareness by playing a smaller type, like Dunn, against him.

Anyone see room for Rohan Bail? This bloke is stiff

Nope. He's exceeded my expectations but still isn't in my best 22. That said, there's time.

Sorry to spoil your fun, but Masten is injured.

Also, you forgot to add "Sylvia lays a huge hip and shoulder on Kennedy, gee that looked bad, he's not getting up".

17 pages!! who hoo! what is the record?

Yep, I read the injury list 5 minutes after that post!

Oops.

Tribunal gives Sylvia life in prison for premeditated murder.

But on appeal Slater and Gordon drum up a precedent based defence and the charge is downgraded to justifiable homicide and he is released with a good behaviour bond and goes on to win the brownlow

i know the swap makes sense but i still think Dunn has played well enought to keep his spot. In saying that i don't know who else we could have dropped. The back-line and midfield are pretty set these days so it's just the forward line, ruck and bench spots up for grabs.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
