Look at hits out when scum scored to when we scored, Jamar BOG, watch him blossum this season

Unbelievable... Bigfooty has gone bananas about the umpiring... and hardy any MFC supporters are piping up. All opposition supporters.

Fantastic! The senior players stood up, and the youngsters backed them up brilliantly. The only difference was that they didn't know how to win it, though they were desperately unlucky in the end.

Just listening to Harry O'Brien's interview - praising the Dees muchly, saying he thought Petterd might have had the mark in the square in the last second.

I'm too shattered to type,i'm extremely proud of every Demon!!!!

This is how we can play when we are mentally switched on for 4 quarters.

Hats off to all our blokes for a fantastic effort. I know we lost, but to be in the game for the entire 120 minutes is a remarkable improvement from last week.

The test is to not revert to old habits next week V's Adelaide.

Those Bennell and Green non-decisions in the last 5 minutes were atrocious...

For the first time in about two years, I'm absolutely gutted about a loss.

Me too. It's nice to feel 'normal' about a loss again. As horrible a feeling as it is, it's much better than the dirty relief I felt after the Richmond game last year. I'll take this over that any day.

Bate has been terrible up until half time.

Good game of football, the big test is the third quarter.

Definitely feeling the love for McKenzie.

Me too. Might have to change 'bobby' to Joel if he keeps this up. Superb game.

Honourable loss. Hurts but geez we gave 'em a scare. Loved the way the kids played today. They might have made mistakes but they will learn from it. And watching half strength Dee's took it right up to a full strength Collingwood gives me so much hope for the future.

The Bennell decision was farcical. That umpire should be binned for the rest of the year. And the 'holding the ball' decision award to Davis for his tackle on Strauss. Dead set - such ineptitude should not be tolerated by the AFL.

Eddie obviously gave an Easter bonus to a few umpires today. Some disgraceful decisions, the majority of which went against us.

Beaten by the umps...certainly not a better team !! cant wait for Eddie to whinge about it though.

well done Dees..( well most of you...a couple ...and they will know who they are) ought to be very sheepish about basking in any Melbourne praise

Agree honestly some unbelievable decisions seriously strauss's holding the ball.

we were dead set dudded by the umpires today, they would blow the whistle as soon as we got touched in a tackle for holding the ball, then Shaw clearly takes Green on in the dying seconds gets tackled drops the ball and the umpire lets it go

gutted

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
