I'm from the West....yeah, they're pretty bad.

Each to their own. I watched them against the Dons, and they're a better side than us by a long way. Far better ball movement and gameplan.

Maybe not top 8, but still better than people think.

I think they are 1-2 years ahead of us.

And as good as Davey is, Cox and Kerr are both a hell of a lot better.

Woosha was 100% correct when saying Judd did them a favour by leaving (or Carlton did by coughing up so much in the trade)

But it's a long way to go...we're only expecting 5-7 wins this year: rebuilding etc etc...aiming for the eight in 2012. Poised for the Flag in 2015.

We seem to have run out of legs in the 2nd half. We had a few players who would have needed the run (Davey, Bate, Bruce, etc) but not sure if WCE had similar situation.

Fair dinkum. If NicNat has had a day out I'm going to put my head through this screen.

"This screen" meaning mine or yours?

Dees go down by 38 at the final siren. Bests for melb were Bruce, Mcdonald, Jones, Green, Moloney.

Where are all our young guns.

I still love them.

Why?

I'd expect him to.

Naitanui was pick 2.

He will be a good player and I expect him to put in good performances.

The reality of the situation is that Watts is more than a year younger and has a much less developed body than Naitanui.

Right now he can't compete and it is unfair to compare the 2. Only the foolish would try.

Watts will be good and once he has played senior football against big bodies for multiple seasons (as NicNat has) then I fully expect him to have the same impact or better.

It's pretty simple really.

:D Nice.

Mine of course. Should have probably said fist.

Why?

Soon to be related to a West Coast fan. She'd never let me forget about it.

Grimes did not play did he? He is probably our best player. Kerr and Cox are established AFL stars on their way back from injury. But yeah seriously not beating West Coast at Casey is not great form.

Did I hear Sylvia went off early?

What were the problems from those that were there?

Still not enough inside 50s?

Obviously horrendous finishing in front of goal early too.

34 scoring shots to 26 is not a huge blow out but it does not sound like our defence was terribly effective either.

Obviously they need to give up on S. Martin as a forward and send him back to full back on the gorillas where he has played his best footy and then give Newton 5 games to save his career at Full Forward.

Daniher started to rebuild and we keep rebuilding with Bailey, Im so sick of it, I love the dees and stick up for them contantly, but when will we show something? I am a realist and know it takes time but the best teams show something every 2nd time they step out.

We are really lacking that winning feeling, That toughness and the killer instinct. With Stynes at the helm and sponsers willing to get on if this group of players dont step up we are stuffed.

I want to see Bailey get [censored] off, he is a great speaker but show some signs that it hurts and theat you feel under pressure. Melbourne players are far too confortable in their position in the club, we need to be ruthless, if you dont cut it then off you go.

Dont get me wrong, I bleed red and blue and so do my young family, we have been members for as long as I remember, we love the dees but lets get serious. Its time to show something after 4 years of not a thing.

I hope you're right, I really do - but from what I have seen of Watts he is very, very slow over those first 5 metres...and big lads don't get faster. Natanui has flair.

if we cant roll West coast at Casey ill be disappointed.

Daily we are reminded that the team will improve over time and that there will be bad losses along the way... so why the hell does anyone act surprised??

Carrying on with tripe like your posts in this thread is only petty and annoying.

It's simply a matter of keeping certain things in perspective.

Looking forward to a good development season in 2010, little more.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
