Game Day: Adelaide v Melbourne

Petterd kicks his 4th after some great work by Spencer.

Dees in fornt.

GO DEES.

Tippett going to win it or the Crows.

Umpires decide it.

Free kick to Tippet 30m out.

Nobody knows why.

Tippet goals.

Aaah who cares. Jurrah and Bell stay unurt, we win.

We got a lot of what we wanted there. Trengove, Scully, Grimes, Petterd... and half a dozen cameos.

That'll keep us competitive with most sides this year. Besides the Jurrah and Bell injuries, I'm satisfied.

I agree entirely.

" a wins a win"

yet if melbourne had of won it would have been because crows play [censored] and they had good players out?

wat a joke

Fantastic effort by a very inexperienced team. Could be a quiet week on Demonland as the doomsayers/sky is falling crowd will be sheepish

Any idea what the free kick was for??

what a shock, a free kick in the dying moments costs us the game

who cares though, even those biased idiots said we were the better side on the day, which is bloody exciting

we've seen this mob (even without many key players) can match it with, and sometimes destroy, Essendon and Adelaide

sculgove dominated apparently

things are looking great

Ahh, who cares what (if anything) those tossbags think. Our kids showed they can mix it at this level and if not for the injuries I would have considered it a great day for us.

On the brighter side... we play them in rd 3 at the G. We have more players coming back than they do.... won't know how serious their problems are until the real stuff starts, but about three years ago I predicted their bubble had burst, I might have been three years too early. No Porplyzia or Tippet and they can't kick a score.

site has been sooooo busy it's been nearly impossible to get on. I know we were beaten at the end, but can someone give me a score. I heard Liam and Bell were injured... any others

I guess, in a way, we're all winners.

Adelaide take the.. oh wait up, there were no points. Melbourne (listeners) can turn off the radio :)

Looking forward (sadly) to the injury updates.. want to know how bad it is for our guys.

Did Newton score a single point today?

We broke our record of visitors to the message board at one time. The previous record was 444 on the night of the last draft. We beat it today with 498 people at around 7:30pm.

please SCORE anyone !!!!

the kids are starting to play well together, I did hear the commentators mention Scully & Trengove a great deal. That is a good sign in my book...

All we need is some kicking practice. Thank alah for Pettard & his 4 :)

please SCORE anyone !!!!

Adelaide won by 4 pts.

9 goals something (15 points or so) to 10 goals something. (5 pts) .... Petterd 4 goals, Maric 2 goals, Miller 2 (maybe) Scully and Jurrah. From what I could make out on the radio...Better players were Trengove, McDonald (Jnr) Frawley, Scully, Bail and Jones until injured.

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back on the road again and this may be the last roll of the dice to get their 2025 season back on track as they take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
