Help Keep DEMONLAND Online!!!

Hi Guys,

As you know over the last 9 years DEMONLAND has always been (and always will remain) FREE despite the fact that it costs us to run the site. We have to pay hosting fees, domain name registration as well as the time it takes to upload and maintain the site. I have set up a donation link on the homepage in order to encourage the members of this site to help us contribute towards the maintaining of this site that you all love. It will direct you to the PAY PAL site which is completely secure. I don't expect to make money from this and any funds not used directly towards covering the costs of this site will be donated back to the club. I appreciate and thank everyone who assists us in this. Cheers and GO DEMONS,

Andy

You guys provide an outstanding service, especially appreciated by us footy-starved interstate supporters of the Mighty Demons. Keep up the good work ..... I would feel bereft without Demonland. Have just contributed a small amount towards your costs, and will dig much deeper should the need ever arise.

Ever thought about displaying logos of businesses who sponsor the site?

That's a great idea! There are so many companies out there that would be willing to sponsor this site, whilst exposing their brand for a win win! Demonland has such a targeted niche of passionate fans and sports marketing companies/holidays would be crazy not to sponsor a site like this. We are working with a few clients in this genre and I will certainly express the potential here!

It has never been my intention to make money from this site. My intention was always for this site to be a place where Demons fans could come to discuss their beloved club. Having said that over the years mounting costs associated with running and maintaining this site have made me seek donations from users in order to help pay for those costs. I have never wanted to take any money away from the club and I have never wanted to have sponsors that are either in competition with or are viewed as being associated with the club by virtue of being sponsors of Demonland. This is not fair to the club and not fair to the sponsors of the club who pay good $$$ to be associated with the club. As the club has no control over the content of this site they can't appear to condone or support the site and I would assume that this would include splashing the current sponsors logos on the site. In the past I have made offers to the club to put up any sponsorship that they want onto the site for free but have never heard back from them in this regard.

Anyway, a web hosting company eWorld generously host this site for free which is a huge help in cutting the costs of running the site. As a favour to them we have a non intrusive and subtle sponsorship ad at the bottom of the homepage (as per their request) of a company associated with the owner of our web hosting company. Please visit Melbourne Accomodation next time you visit Melbourne. They offer hotels, motels, resorts & holiday apartment accommodation from the Melbourne and the greater Victorian region. They have discounted all accommodation on their site exclusively for people coming to Melbourne. So feel free to use their search wizard to find the best accommodation at the Lowest Guaranteed Rate.

Every little bit helps. People have given anywhere from $5 to over $100. One poster even offered his company's services and now hosts the site for free which has helped a lot in keeping our out of pocket costs down.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
