Pick 11

I think we should go for the best available at pick 11, which would most likely be a midfielder.

I'd love to see Lewis Jetta in our side but by pick 18 some good key forwards may have been taken already

Picks 1 and 2 are undoubtedly being used on Scully and Trengove and it's unlikely thata decent key forward will be available through the PSD so if pick 11 was used on a forward it would be understandable aswell.

Thoughts please?

Assuming 1 and 2 go on Scully and Trengrove I think 11 has to be used on a tall. Whether they go looking for a ruck or a KPP I don't know, but if we're to get a good one it needs to be fairly early. I think the KPF's in this draft are rated a bit higher than the rucks, so probably one of them and a ruck later if there's a good one going.

pick 11 definately should be a tall key position player. Players like Butcher might be still available with also Carlisle, Panos, Talia and Temel in the running for the pick. Whoever we select must be a good set shot at goal, otherwise they are useless, we've already got Miller and Newton who are awful kicks.

Pick 11 & 18 to be a combination of Aaron Black, Carlisle, Vardy or Griffiths for me.

Talia of course, if he slips through, but highly doubtful.

If Butcher is still available.... Then we will take him.... I have no doubt.... But it's a big IF....

Do you see Butcher as possibly still available at pick 11?

I can see him slip to 11 the only worry will be the bombers with pick 10 they may want another KPP now they have lost lucas and lloyd time will tell hey i can't wait and have full faith in our FD they don't seem to have made to many mistakes in recent years (unlike the tigers a few years ago)

GO DEES christmas comes early this year NOVEMBER!!!!

If the rumour I am hearing is true, then Essendon have included their Pick 10 in the deal with Port/Hawthorn/Burgoyne/Williams....

I know it might sound strange, but they reckon here on Adelaide radio that they will confirm just before 7pm (7:30 EDST) that Port will have Picks 8,9,10.... Hawks get SB.... Essendon get Mark Williams.... If Hawthorn are stupid enough to give 9 and 10(via Essendon) to Port then that may throw a spanner in the works come draft day....

I'd love to get Talia at 11 if he's available.

If Butcher's there they'll take him, if not people say the club is super keen on Carlisle... I'd be happy with Talia here. Temel and Panos likewise would get me excited.

It HAS to be a KP player though.

Port Adel - picks 8,9,16.

Butcher, Tapscott, Talia, Panos, Carlisle

In that order. We go KPP, unless Tapscott is there, as he is a real talent with a great kick, who may slip. We'll go KPP again at 18, likely on Carlisle, Black, or whoever is around.

Griffiths.

Not keen on Panos.

That he is Freak. Played at CHB and running off the HBF this year, but he did go forward a few times with moderate success. If we drafted him we would try to mould him into a key forward.

talia is more of a backmen than a forward people. relax

And Garland played forward before he played back. We're relaxed.

You'd be more comfortable with a very injury prone Griffiths???

Yeah, strangely.

Something about Panos doesn't feel right for me.

Too much hype and not enough substance...

But its not like I'm a recruiter & I haven't seen him play live, so my opinion is based on very little.

No different to the majority of posters on this forum...

And you mean injury prone at U/18 level like Joel Selwood, Chris Judd, Tom Swift... shall I keep going?

Picks 11 and 18 HAVE to be used on prospective Key Position Forwards.

Carlisle

Talia

Panos

Butcher

Temel

Not necessarily in order.

Talls are different.

Joel Selwood and Judd had a single injury from memory which needed to get fixed. Griffiths has had miltiple injuries in different area's and it seems his body is not handling it atm.

I don't think they both HAVE to be used on KPF's. Sure, definitely one of them should be used on a KPF, but we've lost Brock - you can never have enough mid's. I'd prefer the club go for what they think is the best available player if that happens to be a KPF so be it. But I wouldn't say that picks 11 & 18 are 'locks' for KPF's.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
