  1. Chris Dawes is an average player at a very well coached club. He is similar to Jesse White and would end up as a dud at our club. We need a gun midfielder ahead of a second string forward. Sam Reid is way out of our league. Sydney will not let him go.
  2. Take your dirty money and f%&k off! What happened to repaying the club that gave you your first opportunity. I hereby declare that all future number 1 draft picks be named Jack!
  3. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/120703/default.aspx Evans and Nico
  4. 6. Frawley 5. Petterd 4. Martin 3. Sylvia 2. Maric 1. Nicholson
  5. Sorry CJJ. Will the real Captain Jack please stand up! Maybe Grimes, Trengove or Watts? (Fitzpatrick unlikely and Viney not there yet!)
  6. Once he gets some meat on those bones his confidence in contested situations will increase. Can play in a variety of positions, is an elite runner and his disposal is underrated. Patience people!
  7. Ahhhh......(relief) Thanks Maldonboy. That was the hit I needed.
  8. Did anyone make it down to Casey Fields this morning? My off season thirst for demon news needs to be quenched.
  9. Blease Interview Part 2: When you were drafted, your pace and kicking were rated among your best attributes. Would you agree with that? I think my kicking and pace are my main attributes. I did my first lot of sprints the other day and I wasn't any slower than before I broke my leg, so that's positive. I've just started my kicking again and that feels pretty good at the moment, so hopefully I can keep improving on my endurance, so I should be right to go. Great news!
  10. Correct me if I am wrong, but can't we throw Bruce on the veterans list to free up a spot. Then if we are going to use 6 picks we only need to delist one other player
  11. F#$K me I love Cale Morton. I may need to challenge Mr Morton to an arm wrestle for the title of Cale's number 1 fan (If his arms are anything like Cale's, I at least stand a chance ). Can't wait for this kid to be holding down either CHF or CHB!
  12. The majority of the players agreed to this. They get 6 weeks off and more time off over Christmas on top of this. I wish I was in a similar position and was getting paid the dollars that most of them are on. Pipe down!!!
  13. I like Stef Martin. Mick Malthouse was quoted as saying re: Leigh Brown - He's not the best backman, forward or ruckman in the team but he can play all those positions and give relief to other players. I think Stef will prove to be a much better player than Leigh but from a top coach in the competition it seems we are on to a winner
  14. I agree that Melb will use 6 picks. But, correct me if I'm wrong, if we want to keep Valenti do we have to open up another spot on our list as he can no longer remain on the rookie list? Could be very tough on young Shane if so.
  15. Do you see Butcher as possibly still available at pick 11?
  16. Better........... get me a bucket!
  17. Trying to match each Geelong Premiership player with a guy running around with a Demon jumper on his back. The backline: Darren Milburn – Jared Rivers (Hope he stays at the club) Matthew Scarlett – Chip Frawley (Not sure if he will ever be that good) Corey Enright - Cam Bruce (Filling a hole in the interim) Tom Harley – Matty Warnock (Bit of muscle in the back half) Harry Taylor – Col Garland (Needs to recover from injury) Andrew Mackie - Cale Morton (Could play anywhere) In the middle: Brad Ottens - Mark Jamar (Strong ruck who can kick goals. One good thing to come out of the latter rounds 2009 - discovering he can slot a few through) Joel Selwood – Nate Jones (Are they in the same league?) Gary Ablett - Jack Grimes (No pressure!) Joel Corey – Brad Green (Mr Courageous) Cameron Ling – Brent Moloney (He's no stopper) James Kelly - Aaron Davey (He's signed.....finally!) The lads up front: Jimmy Bartel – Matty Bate (Where do I start?) Cameron Mooney – Brad Miller (As above) Steve Johnson - Liam Jurrah (The mercurial forward) Travis Varcoe – Austin Wonaeamirri (Lets hope he stays on the park in 2010) Tom Hawkins – Jack Watts (Maybe a slight difference in body size but young enough none the less) Paul Chapman - Col Sylvia (We probably need him in the midfield without Brock) Int: Mark Blake – Jake Spencer (A lot of development needed) Shannon Byrnes - Tom Scully (Will take time) Max Rooke - Lynden Dunn (The defensive half forward - surely Dunny is the man) David Wojcinski - Jamie Bennel (A long way off) I think we are a long way off yet! People talk about the turn around from the Hawks but they have guys who are willing to lay some pretty mean tackles - and they had a guy called Buddy running around. Defensive pressure is the key! The Dees are laying more effective tackles under DB IMO but we are a mile off the numbers that the Cats and Saints are now racking up.
  18. Probably just want to get the chance to play - full stop. It is sad that all the hacks at opposing clubs want to get a game of afl at the dees. No thanks!
  19. Yes he is still unproven. But, what a great year it was from a rookie. At the start of 2009 he had reduced his weight and was ready to play stints in the midfield and then sit at the feet of Jurrah/Watts in the forward line. Bring on an injury-free Wona in 2010!
  20. Thank f$%k! Now its Davey's turn. As soon as that happens the McLean trade doesn't look so bad.
  21. Panos!!!!!!!! Has a nice ring. One for the fans after losing Robbo.
  22. The life of a tall forward is made much easier when the delivery is spot on. I am still torn between Butcher and Trengove but loving the position we are in. Bring on 2010!
