Who are we all barracking for?

Featured Replies

Agree with you, hopefully Bulldogs to win the flag, they are the least arrogant. Otherwise Saints.

Yeah, that's the funny thing about St Kilda. Supremely arrogant supporter base, yet have achieved little success.

Which ever teams put out Carlton, Essendon and the Filth (and to a lesser extent, Adelaide). Could not care less who wins the Flag out of the remaining 4 teams, so long as it is not one of the first 4, particularly the first 3.

At least, if it was Adelaide, we wouldn't hear about it over here.:P

Yeah it could be like losing the Ashes, simply never mentioned, move on to something else, spring racing whatever. Their local news could blow their trumpets all they liked and we just get on with life oblivious to it all and looking ahead to next year :D

(plus we get the pleasure of seeing a few of the scum get belted, like the bombers tonite hopefully...)

Definitely not Carlton, Collingwood or Essendon nor an interstate team.

Dogs, Saints or Cats in that order.

Crows by 96...

Being born and breed in the western suburbs I have a real soft spot for the Dogs! Go Dogs!

For the weekend:

Friday Night: Couldn't of cared less. hate them both.

Saturday: Western Bulldogs

Saturday Night: Carlton

Sunday: St. Kilda

St. Kilda for the flag.

After growing up watching the Dees and saints battle out for the wooden spoon for the majority of the late 70`s and nearly all of the 80`s, I desperately want them to win it. be happy for the doggies though.

Not one single person on here wanted Essendon to win last night. One person wants a Collingwood victory on Sunday (YOU know who you are ;) )

I want the Doggies to go all the way, will be at the 'G today waving my Demons scarf at every doggy goal!

- Collingwood (I HATE St Kilda!)

....

How could you...

Truth be told, I'm not much of a St Kilda fan either. Their supporters aren't much better than Collingwood's or Richmond's. But we can't have Collingwood succeed in any way shape or form. And I wouldn't mind seeing one of St Kilda or Dogs end their drought.

Its such an empty feeling sitting at the G on gf day and watching happy players and supporters celebrating a flag. Don't know why i put myself through it every year.

I empathise with you and all other Melbourne Supporters....45 years without a flag is far too long....even the woods pinched one in 1990 to break their drought.

By the way I watched a replay the other day of the last quarter of the 1987 prelim at arctic park. Apart from the well documented "Stynes over the mark" incident, I was reminded of the easy shots missed by Campbell, Yeats and Eishald.....another bad memory DOH.

Let's hope we have better fortunes over the coming few years....though I must say I do not think Bailey is the man for the job.....I am hoping Gazza makes his move into coaching and pays the Club back for the many opportunities he has enjoyed. He is clearly a passionate Melbourne man and still young enough to do a great job developing our next premiership team.

If you can't beat em, join em.

Go Adelaide.

Wtf? Stone the crows.

It was a good first week. Only slight disappointment was the doggies getting beat. They could have done with Robbo.

Next week I'm going for:

Bulldogs

Adelaide

Having watched Geelong, they have a way to go to win another flag. They struggled to hold on in the last qtr. On form, Saints v. Crows is looking good for the GF.

As long as Collingwood don't win the Grand Final, I really don't care who does. I still think Geelong will go all the way, but really it's open to anyone. Wouldn't mind seeing the Bulldogs win it though.

I just hope Adelaide can put in another brilliant display up forward again this week.

HT, This week I would assume your with me on the crows?

You would assume correct. With you 100%. :)

Go Crows!

It was a great weekend for ALL football suporters this weekend; Essendon, Carlton & Collingwood all lost their final. Now Im crossing my fingers for the Scum to take out the Filth out in straight sets (then the Scum to be knocked out in the Prelim final) :D

Go Brisbane go!

There is a reason why you are my second team, despite by a long long margin. The way you toyed with Carlton, making them think they had it won then [censored] slapping them into submission was just a thing of beauty.

saints or dogs

they've only won 1 premiership so its about time.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
