I loved how Panos plays. Moves beautifully. But 190cm? I couldn't seriously recruit a guy as a KP forward at that height without some Robbo-like tricks in his bag. And even then, Robbo was a rookie, and a very lucky recruit for us.

Ill keep you updated on Panos, hes playing league tomorrow & at the moment Trent Hentschell from the crows is standing him or he might even get Ken Mcgregor so it will be a good test against some experienced AFL players.I know hes only 190 at the moment but you would have to think he will grow to around 194 or 195 which is 6"6 so thats a good size & he is very strong & quick & is a smart player.I watch him every week & im very impressed

My concern over all the names you quote is that each club the payers went to had a strong identity and culture. MFC's has been a joke for a while now, which is a concern. Having said that, who needs culture when you are looking at GF berths?

can we close this thread until the kangaroos game is over. if we beat them then we will not get the priority pick anyway because we will smash the dockers at the mcg.

Anyway, Morabito is clearly the 2nd best player in the comp. Has the X-factor that Trengove doesn't have. He is quicker, yet bigger and his disposals are good just not as good as Trengove's.

I was thinking about Morabito if we don't go for Butcher. Not only does he have that athleticism and x-factor, but he's also really good at stoppages when used there. I like Morabito cause he would give us something a little bit different to what we already have.

Trengove looks a great prospect, but with McLean, Moloney, Jones, Scully (potentially...), Grimes i just think we need to introduce a bit more 'flair' in the midfield tbh to complement the hard-nosed brigade...

You've previously declared that we won't be getting the priority pick, but now you're not so sure. I preferred it when you firmly held the former view.

I too really like Morabito and I've waxed and waned between he and Trengove. I reckon Morabito will be a star. However, I don't think it's clear cut. They're very different types.

I'd be deliriously happy with either.

I have sympathy with your view, because it's one of the reasons that I was initially slightly keener on Morabito, but we still need Trengove's type of class in the midfield - think Bartel. I've only seen Trengove live once, but some players that's all you need to spot talent. He'll be classier than McLean, Moloney, and Jones and there's still room in our midfield for class.

Dont forget we still have blease coming along and you didnt mention sylvia or even bennell and davey.

I get what your saying personally id prefer trengove but id be happy either way.

Personally from watching the state carnival on fox neither of them were that impressive.

Trengove had a pretty quiet game after qaureter timeish and morabito did a few good things.

What is your point?

He's shorter than all of them and he has less tricks than them.

Is your point that we should avoid him at all costs?

I wouldn't go near him, from what I've seen I don't rate him... (and yes, I'm aware that what I have seen is not enough to properly judge him, that's just my ill-informed view)

Dont know about the no tricks part, your comparing him to Fevola & as anyone will tell you hes the most one dimensional player in the game. Can Fev play anywhere but FF.Panos has been FF,CHF & today on the HFF.Also did any of the others have that many tricks at 17,Roughead,Fev,Buddy etc have all taken time & develop as the go.He has a great base as in kicking, marking,is quick & strong & will develop nicely.I watch him every week & rate him

My point is he's built & plays similarly to most of these 6'3"inch 6'4" types of heavy set build, he's a quality player with an exceptional kick. IMO he's taller than quoted as I went to watch him & Trengove play live. I've witnessed what they are, how big they are & what they can do.

Im with you there, hes still young but has a good brain & will develop like them.Hes playing on men & today Trent Hentschel from the Crows stood him so the opposition must rate him.He does play taller & is very quick & will only get better.Trengrove,Panos etc are playing league footy against men so are stronger & are learning a harder style than the TAC cup boys.Just look how Rich has gone, senior experience counts. Also i keep hearing about Butcher but what are his stats,ie height, weight etc. From the reports ive heard they say hes very lazy, dosnt chase so can anyone tell me anymore as ive only seen a few highlights

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
