If enough people show interest through this thread I will come up with something more concrete.

Count me in, I have plenty of old stuff to donate, hate to part with any of it, but it's a great idea worth supporting.

how many 05,06,07,08 membership scarves will get sent up :P

another thought i had would be to set up a yuendumu scholorship/rookie program, maybe one or two kids from up there a year could come for a set time, spend some time with davey, jurrah ect, play a few games with casey reserves ect, with the idea of rookie listing them

Great Idea FC. Hope it comes off.

Might have to go up north for a visit in a couple of years. Wearing my 1987 Jumper & scarf.

Great idea FC Melbourne. I have some caps and scarves to donate. let us know the final arrangements.

I've got a couple of beanies and a scarf or two I'd be happy to send their way.

Great idea. I've got a few team polos that I have *grown* out of!!

Will items be collected in Melbourne or posted direct to Yuendumu?

More than willing to send 2 of my old guernseys up

Maybe contact the Mt. Theo organisation and see if something can be arranged,

Hey guys just to let you know that Melbourne have made contact with us here at Yuendumu FC and we are definitely looking at building a positive relationship into the future (hopefully in conjunction with RudeBoys Industrial Magpies Group whom we have had a great relationship and friendship with for 5 or 6 years). Melbourne, most particularly Ian Flack, have been hugely supportive of Liam and Yuendumu.

As far as gear goes we only have 2 games left in our current season in Alice and have a decent current kit. Jumpers would definitely come in handy for our Summer competition - Liam actually grabbed us some training gear early this year which was used in the Yuendumu Summer Comp. From Jan - April we have a Yuendumu based Summer comp which sees Yuendumu Magpies split into 3 local teams (Souths, Allies, Dockers) as well as nearby Nyirripi and Willowra Communities (also the Warlpiri tribe) and Mt Allan Community (Anmatjere tribe). We just play matches every afternoon and its effectively our pre-season training for the Alice Springs CAFL! You can see details about the Summer Comp for the last few years on the website www.yuendumumagpies.com.

Wondering if anything came of this idea?

I've got a couple of old shirts that will otherwise be going of to the Salvos.

Could it be as simple as getting an postal address in Yuendumu?

OK, back on board after a short break and ready to get this going.

Firstly, everyone happy that I use my personal postal address as the collection point? I realise there is an element of trust here and just want to confirm no one has an issue with this. Secondly, I am based in Brisbane which may present a logistical hurdle. If someone Melbourne based wants to take over I'm more than happy to let them.

I will keep an inventory somewhere on demonwiki to keep some transparency to the process. Once we have an idea what we have to send, we will address the issue of how to get everything to Yuendumu.

I've got a few Demon jumpers (kids sizes), scarves, etc; I've also got a few pair of footy boots that my boys have outgrown if they would be interested in those, they're welcome to them. I think the kids might prefer to play barefoot though but they're here if they want them.

Great idea. I've got a few things that I'd love to see go to a good home.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

  • PREGAME: Gold Coast

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
