Tom Scully on display Sunday...

This Sunday 11.10am at Trevor Barker Oval,Sandringham.

If any Dees fans want to see Scully in one of his last games of the year,he is playing for the Stingrays for only the 4th time this year due to School footy and U/18 carnival committments.

My nephew plays for the Sandy Dragons and i warned him to keep his elbows down around Scully

It should be a good game as the Sandy Dragons only lost to the undefeated Falcons by 2 goals at Sandy 2 weeks ago, albeit Ben Cunington,Gary Rohan & Allan Christensen weren't playing for the Falcons due to the U/18 carnival.

Jono Nash who is running 3rd in the comp. B & F (according to TAC Future Stars) will take on Scully head to head in what should be a good match up.

Entry is free ;)

Theres a Sandringham v Collingwood VFL game afterwards for those interested - even though there is no MFC connection anymore.

I'll be there.

Tom Scully didn't have a great day yesterday but he moves well and works really hard between contests,a lot harder than anyone we have at the Dees.He played forward flank all day with a run in the middle for 10 minutes in the last 1/4.

He is a very good kick on both sides of his body and you wouldn't know if he was left or right if you didn't know before the game,in fact my brother said he's a left footer,i honestly thought he was a right footer,he's that good and beautifully balanced both sides.

A lot of left footers,Green & Davey included don't have a great right boot and Davey got caught on Queen's B'day on his wrong side on at least 4 occasions and had to go back onto his left, the Pies took his left side space and forced him onto his right, teams soon work you out and Davey has suffered a bit this year,so it's great to see Scully equally at home on both sides.

He doesn't have the left foot penetration of Daniel Rich, but Rich gets his penetrating power from his big rump/hips,Scully is very slight but will build up in the coming years.I stood behind him at the 1/4 time huddle and he is 180-182cm tops. One thing Scully has in spades is his toughness,he flattened blokes a lot bigger than him and dives into the bottom of packs and has lightning hands in heavy traffic. He's extremely fit and runs all day without a rest.

I would say he has as good a kick, accuracy wise, but less penetrating than Daniel Rich and the toughness of Joel Selwood and reads the play very well and is beautifully balanced both sides of his body and great in heavy traffic but it was U/18 level.

We need him in our midfield round 1 next year.

Dont even bother posting Tom Scully threads anymore because we aren't going to get him, have you looked at the ladder? With Freo, richmond, north and sydney still to come, we blew our chance yesterday.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
