Laidley Sacked.

For a struggling club like North you'd think they might like a coach who was more media-friendly.

Laidley to me seems like trying to interview a cornered dog at times.

Its funny, cos Bailey's demeanor isn't that much different, but I get the sense he's amused by the media & gets a kick out of it.

Yeah this was surprising. He was going at basically 50% win:loss which, all things considered at North, is pretty good going.

For mine, Williams will almost definitely not be a Port next year, would be very, very surprised if they kept him, in light of their erratic performances this year. Harvey could very well go too. I don't really rate him at all.

Anyone see Voss On The Couch last night, basically said that he would love to see Lethal coaching again and that he would be excellent. By the way, Voss is a legend, conducts himself very well, you can see and hear the committment, passion and determination in him and he is a born winner. Will enjoy great success in his coaching career I reckon.

Seemingly both parties happy with the result.

Had lunch today as it happens with a WC supporter.

Woosha going nowhere. Coasters tanking hard.

His goodbye included 'see you in a fortnight - we'll see who wants to lose the most.'

Just heard on Canberra radio that CC has said that he is not interested in the NM or R'mond coaching positions. Excellent! He has real passion for the Dees, and seems to be doing a great job.

I think those clubs would be happy to hear that too.....

If you read Caro's article in the Age, Laidley's cards were marked after the Swans loss last year. It was a slow execution.

And Nathan Buckley will be keen to take a role at a Club with no money, no facilties, no supporters, questionable future in Melbourne. B). Unless Malthouse get a GF berth for the Pies this year, he will not get another contract. Buckley will be at Collingwood next year.

Do you know something Rhino or is it just a hunch?

What then for Malthouse?

Agree. Not necessarily that its a given for him to be at Collingwood (although a good chance of it), but he would be nuts to take the NM gig given how highly he seems to be regarded by everyone. He will wait for the right job

What about the one on offer at Punt Rd.

What will be interesting is what Collingwood do

With North needing a Coach for 2010 and the media jumping on the Buckley to North bandwagon i would say Collingwood

will be forced to making a strategic decision soon

Suffice to say that Williams might be getting a little nervous as the fresh crop of coaching talent is starting to become a threat to experienced campaigners

He marked his own cards you mean... Didn't Brayshaw say they had to talk him into staying on after the Swans loss?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
