Maxwell for mine as well. Traditionally, the 'sniper' is one of the lesser lights of the team who plays hard but lacks skill and is really no loss to the side should he be suspended. In Collingwood's case, the sniper is their captain. Gotta love that...

I also think Leigh Brown might try and throw some of his (ample) weight around and run thru the kid if he gets anywhere near him.

It's why i am suprised Miller was Dropped this week. For all his shortcomings he is a Big Boy.

The Filth will try to snipe i have no doubt....Lou Richards was their most Famous one.

My money would be on Beamer.. If he is anywhere within 50 metres.. One angry unit..

I wouldn't mind Phil Read right about now. I clocked up my 100TH post BEER TIME !!!! :D

DEFINITELY Beamer! He's one man you don't want to get angry!

I wouldn't be surprised to see him run 150m from one end to the other, just to stick up for our golden boy.

hahah yeh Phil Read, i recon it woudl have to be someone in the forward line depending on if Jack starts on the ground or not.

If so id say Sylvia hopefully if his playing down forward other wise our forward line isnt the most mean part of our team.

Then you've answered why he's not in the team.

By itself it doesn't warrant an inclusion.

On his recent form, I agree.

Maxwell will have a crack, and it will no doubt be behind the play because he is a pathetic snipper who thinks Josh "buttercup" Fraser is in All Australian form

As for who will help protect him, I would hope anyone and everyone (except Morton, who needs to steer clear of situations where his brittle body may snap in half). I wouldn't want to have a go at Jack if Beamer, McLean, Sylvia or Jamar are around. All four could flatten someone like Maxwell in five seconds.

But if you really want to protect Jack, get Whelan to play near him. A couple of skull-shattering spear tackles on Jack's opponent will do me fine! :D

Maxwell and our tuff man Cale Morton will be first in, Col, Moloney, Mclean, Jones, Grimes, Jamar, PJ, McDonald will not be to far behind

Beamer

Ditto. He's an angry angry man when he's sticking up for his mates.

I don't think Collingwood will go too far out of their way to rough up Jack though. They'll give him a push and shove here and there. But if they're seriously concerned with unsettling a kid in his first game, then they haven't got their mind on the job. Would only be a good sign for us.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
