Barassi left before I was born, so I won't include players I never saw.  From what I've heard it would be hard to go past Stuart Spencer, Barassi, and Mueller from year's gone by.

My 5 favourite players:

Flower, Gawn, Oliver, Petracca, Viney (experienced the worst of it)

My weighting is very much based on premiership players.  I never thought I'd see one, so these guys are my favourite.  It's a very easy decision for me over non premiership players.  But if you saw Robbie you couldn't leave him out.

The 5 best Melbourne players I've seen:

Flower, Gawn, Oliver, Petracca, May (not in order)

It's some feat for a non-premiership player to be included, but if you saw Robbie...

Quite possible we have 3 of the all time great 5 currently playing.

In which case, we should win more than one Premiership with this group. It would be a waste of a golden opportunity.

Not only might we have 3 out of the top 5, there are a few other really good players to add to that list, such as May, Brayshaw and Pickett (and others).

1/ Oliver

2/ Flower

3/ Gawn

4/ Neitz

5/ Stuart Spencer

with Special mention to many others including Jim Stynes, Petracca,  Dixon, Ox, May, Townsend

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
