Did anyone happen to catch 'Footy Classified' last night.

When reviewing Saturdays match, Hutchy (yes Hutchy) had nothing but glowing priase for a young Demons side.

He suggested that the dees may very well be 'tanking' as a way to secure picks 1 and 2. he showed the shot of Miller missing th goal from about 25 out and said Brad Miller would kick this any day of the week. (he clearly doesnt know Miller as well as us)

But he also said that melbourne are a very very good side, and could beat half the teams in the competition.

Thanks for you priase Hutchy!

Hutchioson will say anything when there is a trough of food around. He loves the Tanking issue as it helps sell his paper.

I saw last night & he loved saying that we were Tanking while sitting next to G Lyon.

Pity he & Grant Thomas didn't head out to the carpark a few weeks back.

Yes, clearly he hasn't seen Miller all season. Those missed set shots at goal have been a regular occurrence.

Yeah it was great to hear those words after years of contempt from the media.

I don't know if he was serious about the Miller miss, but Lyon came down on the suggestion pretty hard.

-He said the priority picks system is wrong, but while it's in place Melbourne must take advantage. He even went on to say that the club "should be having a word to the leadership group" to ensure it happens.

Its easy to write those cheap words when you write for Tomorrows Fish & Chip Wrapper. It's far to early to speak of Tanking after round 8. After round 15 if we are still at or under four wins i would make the early Surgery Reservations but not before.

C H will sniff out any story. He ripped into Caro last night over the Lou Richards Issue. I thought very Unfairly.

CH is a drama queen!!!

Oh yes that he is, & under the Present criteria Lou Richards should not be given Legend Status. He was a Good Honest (debatable) player. Not a legend.

His Media Career is a separate issue.

this post is an insult to all those good bottom feeding jurnos out there. CH is the lowest form of them all

There are a bunch of football media types that come and go... maybe bobbing up here and there. CH is a nothing to football... And somehow he's managed to outstay his welcome by a few years. It's not like he brings any richness or colour to the game like a former player would. Dennis Commetti had little to do with the AFL before becoming, in this posters' opinion, easily the best caller ever... CH adds nothing, and usually only hurts the game.

If only he could be embroiled in a big gang-bang conroversy and immediately sacked... sadly I doubt that would happen.

What annoys me about CH is that he has passion - but he turns an intelligent debate into an all out argument - where he will talk all over people and get very aggressive in his tone and mannerism. Also seems to have a very short temper. Yet on his new show on Sundays - he has a totally different dimeanour. Maybe his role on Footy Classified is to be the thug.

Anyone know which team he actually follows?

Pretty sure it's Geelong, But not 100% sure.

Whether, you think we should win at all costs, and finish with more than 4 wins, what CH said is right, this will possibly the last time for many many years to come where a side will get the opportunity of the first 2 draft picks, (unless you are G17 or West Sydney), so to set your self up for a long strong future, why not use what is in place and get the picks, like Carltank, dawks and Saints have?

I am in no way disputing what we should do, i just believe it is too early in the season to call it.

Does not look good for Sponsors if we are seen to be Tanking all year.

I have my fingers crossed quietly that Picks 1 & 2 will come our way but if not it aint the End of the world.

Sponsors will be happy for us when we manage our list well, build a strong lineup with a positive style of game that leads us into the finals in a few years

yes but they don't want to play to empty stadiums or low TV Ratings either. It's a fine Balance.

G Lyon may agree with Hutchison under his breath, but he aint going to mention it on Footy Classified.

Our Prez has scorned disdain at Tanking too remember

Very Fine line we tread this year.

CH was right about the fact that Miller should have kicked the goal, those kicks are meant to be bread and butter for him.

But on Footy Classified last night he said that us supporters were happy with the miss, for him to even suggest that is stupid, I for one wasn't happy with the miss. I don't believe in tanking but all I know is that we had our chances to win the last 2 games and it is frustrating for me to see us at 1-7 at this point.

Hutchy has his own AFL PR/media enterprise, not going anywhere for a long time. Has played his cards right.

His ridiculous assertion that Richmond could threaten the 8 gives away his bias.

He is a Richmond supporter.

I'm not sure most supporters were happy with the miss, but in the grand scheme of things most supporters will be happy with us getting a PP in the draft.

If you see an ad for Footy Classifieds you'll see they talk about the 'controversy' of 'opinionated' personalities clashing - no doubt he's playing a role, that's what it's about (unfortunately).

He ripped into Caro last night over the Lou Richards Issue. I thought very Unfairly.

I heard a little of this and thought the same thing.

If the AFL were so keen they would have over-ruled the committee.

I love how he said that it was a shot that Miller would normally get.

I'm assuming he doesn't know all that well how Miller is as a player. When Miller missed it, I wasn't surprised at all. I don't think anyone was.

Glad to hear we're on the right track though. Hopefully we bring it again against the Hawks. I have so many damn friends who go for Hawthorn. Being from the Northern suburbs, I don't know why...

I know for sure that he is a Geelong supporter.

No, that was 2008 after they won the flag. This year he's a hawthorn supporter.

I wish he'd create some other 'Hammerhead' reality footy programme or go over to the USA and get lost for a few years following Ben Graham and Saverio Rocca's NFL careers.

I heard a little of this and thought the same thing.

I thought the way he delivered the spray to Wilson was pathetic and more embarrassing for himself than Wilson, despite it being harsh.
