bloody disgraceful, his 3rd game gets 27 possies and some bloke called bleery gets it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheesh, relax. He wasn't a standout on Saturday. He'll get a nomination. Patience.

Who :o

Yeah, Cheney and Maric stiff too.

I must admit I wrote off Kyle Cheney after his sub standard efforts in rounds 2 and 3, but he looked good V Dogs.

You wrote off a first-year player, even after one amazing debut and two average games?

Yeah that's how I saw him after watching the replays of all games. Just didn't look like a player in games 2 and 3. Game 1 was good but not amazing.

Fair snub, but Geary has done enough over time in a dominant team to deserve a nomination, even though he won't get big numbers.

(hence no stats of his last game were in the article promoting his nomination)

Jack will continue his run of form and pick up a nomination soon.

The rules/nominations for the Rising Star have always been loosely defined.

Relax, its not like there's been cheating and deception to prevent Jack from ever winning one.

Easy on the outrage rodent. Jack was good on the weekend but has to continue that form to win a nomination. He'll get one sooner or later.

The nomination came from a winning side, I'm sure thats got a bit to do with it.

when we beat the dawks on sun evening and Franky gets another 100 supercoach points he'll get his nomination!

he got 25 touches, not 27. get your facts right before you post. Its only 2 touches different..so i'll just say he got 23 touches.

Geary is a dam good player who has held his spot in a Top side. Frank Grimes is still learning the Trade, (albeit well)..

JB has played some pretty good games, and he hasnt raise a mention either!

too old i believe

Yeah, he's about 6 weeks too old I believe. Ricky Petterd had played one game too many at the start of the year to be considered too. (10 game limit.)

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
