Nathan Jones father on the news

Noticed tonight on the news Nathan Jones father being interviewed wearing a Demons polo shirt.

Problem was the polo was about two years old, and had Asics and Primus logos on it.

Not a great look, surely the club can give him a polo shirt with our current sponsors logos on it if he does any more media appearances!!!! Can you imagine a club like Collingwood or Essendon allowing a players parent to appear on the telly in old club apparel. It wouldnt happen. And we wouldnt see Joffa without the latest Collingwood gear on would we?

I know Jones' father probably just did the interview, autonomous from the footy club but it's the small things that make a footy club look professional. I reckon someone at the club would've been dirty when they saw it. You dont give ex sponsors a free kick. Ever.

I bet Nathan is given a new polo to take home for Dad tomorrow.

Your spot on in SOME of your sentiments.....

Clubs like Collingwood would be money hungry and shallow enough to 'make sure' that they are flogging a sponsor regardless of the situation.

I dont know if this particular situation calls for the sponsors to be branded all other the tele.

If you're referring to the channel 7 interview, than it looked to me like it was a 'Today Tonight' invasion-style interview. The poor guy clearly didn't know he was going to be interviewed, and the reporter was literally standing outside the door just questioning him (their TV was on too, which kind of distracted from the whole thing, and clearly demonstrates how stupid channel 7 really is :D).

Had the club known that an interview was going to take place I'm sure the right polo would have been organised, however I doubt the club said to Jonesy "sorry your old man had his nose and ribs broken, please give him a new top to wear in case some [censored] reporter feels like knocking on his door for an unannounced interview, thanks"

Professionalism is having Jim Stynes and Nathan Jones front up the media and discuss the issue in a calm manner. Giving the guy who was bashed up a new polo so he can plug our sponsor is just a tad self-serving, and would seem as if we are trying to make a profit out of someone's misfortune.

I know you're not the club's greatest advocate at the moment DeeBest, but boy you seem to be clutching at straws right now.

Good to see you are worried about the real issue here. Maybe Colling@#$% can make sure those thugs have all the latest gear for their day in court. That'd show us.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
