According to the Herald Sun Jack Grimes has injured his back and won't play round 1.

It is a different part of the back which is injured. So at least it isn't flaring up in the same spot.

I don't know how to post the article on here, but it was in todays sun, page 83 in the Footy Shorts section titled "Grimes Back Woe".

There's only a 16k difference between Grimes and Petterd in SC. I'll make that trade.

But it's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing him out there. Hopefully it's just a few weeks.

Yep good call wise dog. Its not as if Petterd is not injury prone at all <_<

You read my mind. I made the change as soon as I read that Grimes was injured.

haha fair call, but there's not a lot of value around the 200k mark.

I have Gumbleton as well, but if Thompson from Port gets elevated off the rookie list, he could be a steal at 96k.

I don't think Petterd will rack them up all that much in SC, if you look at his previous stats and watched him play in the praccy games he doesn't get a lot of it. Based on his NAB Challenge form I don't even have him in our best 22, I think he needs a run at Casey to get some touch and confidence back.

I much preferred Grimes' scoring potential, the way he was going he looked as though he could easily score 70-80+ each week.

I think Frawley may be a bit of an SC smoky this year also, I'd probably pick him before Petterd based on current form.

So, we're all more concerned about SC and DT points than whats the real issue here?

Grin. I've always been a little perplexed at the interest, but horses for courses.

Hopefully Grimes is back at it for the MFC sooner rather than later - I've been looking forward to seeing him cement his spot and kick on.

I'll confirm I've seen it in the paper, but it was just a small subheading in Punchlines or something similar.

Barely even a paragraph, so I doubt you'll find an article on the tinternet

I confirm I saw it as well, page 83. Mentioned its not the same part of his back which he had troubles with last year

i actually cant believe people are that concerned about fantasy footy and not about Grimes' wellbeing and his playing future.

i used to sit with with a mate taht was like you blokes, once we were being flogged all his talk turned to praising and watching opposition players to see how his Drem Team was fairing. I couldnt give a hoot about that.

so does anyone know any more info on Grimes/ or have we drafted another one of thos blokes who sits on our list and never plays senior footy?????

Chill out mate -- its very early in his career; the kid could still be anything. No one knows.

Hurry up & wait.

Ironic, isn't it? That Swift, my pick for our PP, killed it for the Eagles, and a guy that's been on the list for a year is the one getting taken out of sides. Grimes had no extreme problems with his body before he was drafted either, from memory.

Wait and see I guess... no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater... but I am getting sick of this club's injury list.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
