Nugget Jones' Draft Summary

I'm still not sure why we needed "your" collective summary when we already have individual threads on each of the players.

I think its a good thread personally Neita. It may have legs. Much like Sheahan's top 50.

The input on the thread and for each of our new recruits is gathering. I'm not sure where you are coming from, Nugget's done a good job, and he can update it as the info comes in. Easier than sifting through 15-25 threads on our picks.

Here's a new article not yet on the draft page

Strauss relieved to be a Dee

Thanks for the link on Strauss, melbman.

Nugget.. Sam Blease reminds me of Nigel Lappins run & carry with the Lions. Apart from looking like a Daniel Ward. He seems to have the skills to match a N.Lappin, or even a young David King from the Roos a decade ago. I think he can play tall too, unlike a Brent Harvey.

Blease looks like the absolute steal of this draft - Moves well, great acceleration, wins his own ball and excellent footskills. Can't wait to him in the red & blue!

Totally agree, with the speed of today's game, I cant believe he was still there at 17.

There is one player he reminds me of in the footage, however I'm not prepared to jinx things.

Hopefully he can turn his 15 possession games into 25s, which I'm sure he will as he's only young.

25 from Blease with his speed and disposal will = 40 from anyone else in coming years.

Any word on Moloney? Obviously we tried and failed to draft a tough middy that get's his own ball. Kind of sounds like we aren't to confident about Moloney getting back in the swing of things anytime soon.

i dont know if that's the case

in 2005, moloneys first year at the club, he came third in the best and fairest (i think)

when he is not injured (which is mainly due to bad luck in his case) moloney can be a very valuable asset to melbourne

Oh yeah I'm not saying he hasn't got it, I really think if he could've stayed on the field since we recruited him he might be the heart and soul of this club by now.

I love that he's a D's man and that he has shown in his actions off-field with the kids that his priority is to help the club move forward. When we get him right he will go straight back to being a weapon..

If anyone is going to clean up Juddy down the track, it'll be Moloney, and when he does I might need to change my fav player.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
