Just some thoughts if you have them on a big announcement expected of a "true champion of the game" to the MFC coaching panel.

Who do you think?

Scott West is my tip, but interested to find out if others know more.

I heard from a "good source" that West has already taken a job elsewhere (about two months back).

Could only be good for us if we can sign a true champion though.

Neita indicated, when announcing his retirement, that he would be around the club in a variety of capacities.

So if it is him that is joining the coaching panel, then no surprises and I would have thought no need for a press release, with a "tease" headline.

Unless of course the club feels it is a way of giving supporters some good news, which of course we all need at the moment.

Looking forward to having the appointment confirmed, whoever it is.

Yer i'd wait til it's official before we get excited.

Mate, I promise you it's official, i work in the Media industry, get all the press releases.. It's happening at Casey tomorrow with Dean Bailey at 10.45am.

Hird would also be handy, but unlikely I think

Thinking about it... Chris Connelly might = Peter Bell??? but I wouldn't have bell in "true champion of the game" league.

If its not Nietz, Buckley is my tip

Three champions mentioned so far in West, Neitz and Buckley. Buckley would continue his commitments with Seven I'd imagine. I think the short list in West or Neitz would be pretty close to the mark. I was hoping for Scott West a while back. Could be the midfield coach.

Seems to have gone without notice on here but Leigh Newton has left the club, so there is a ruck coach position up for grabs as well...

Yeah, really good point..

Maybe Jimma will join the coaching panel as well, save some dough.. !!!

If any of this is true, I can think of no reason to delay making announcement.

It should be on the MFC website right now, but it is not.

Apparently, press conference tomorrow at 10:45am, Casey. You can't wait until then? ;)

Mate, I'm busting for some good news.

But you reckon it would have been leaked by now and the likes of Caro would have got hold of it.

Must listen to SEN or the Healy and the Pipe tonight then.

I think that was mentioned on here a fair while ago, wasn't it?

Shane Crawford??? Paul Salmon???

Let's see, who's available.

Neitz wouldn't need to be a special announcement, he'd be staying more than arriving.

Buckley. Well, for me, no thanks.

West I respect and I'd appreciate him on our staff.

Leigh Matthews would be, well, weird!

James Hird was pretty busy last I heard.

Alistair Lynch as a forward coach?

But it's probably Strauchnie.

Just got official word that Mark Ricciuto has joined the coaching panel.

Welcome aboard Roo.

Now this is the kind of guy I want teaching our midfield!

Official word hey YM? I hope you're right because it would be a great appointment for the club, but is that all your giving us?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
