I think that Nathan Brown played his first game in 2008 but was drafted in 2006 so he isnt really an example of someone who was up to senior football straight away

As for attacking the credentials of Luke Beveridge, I'm not in the position to rate him so no point going down that path, suffice to say the mail I got is that the view on Vickery is also the general opinion of most of the recruiters [i'm told they are reasonably open with their thoughts on top draft picks, and only get cagey when it comes to their opinions of the smokeys].

I am deeply unimpressed, you have made a blanket assertion and displayed arrogance.

The authority relied upon is the St. Kilda recruiting officer, thats a professional's educated opinion as to Vickery's capabilities and prospects.

The feedback is that Vickery has the physical strength required to play regular AFL next year, add to that his ability to play forward as well as ruck increases his prospects of doing so.

Your blanket opinion is that every young tall is not ready and cannot sustain the rigours of AFL Football. Whilst the general assertion is fair, there are exceptions, you will note that a certain Nathan Brown at the Pies did rather well, and Vickery is tipped to be another exception.

My examination of the progress of all talls over the past 10 years is what I base my opinion on and not parrotting third hand chinese whispers that are at best blue sky mining.

Kruezer struggled through the year and his performance waned greatly toward the end of the season. Furthermore, Carlton are keen to chase Warnock (4 yrs + experience) with big dollars. Why? Because Kruezer is too green to handle it.

Kruezer was a No 1 draft pick and exceptional talent at junior levels. He will go onto being a very capable footballer. But he has to develop physically and mentally to cope with the AFL game. And your comments on Vickery attune to physical attributes only.

They're not all the same Nightmare......

I mean some players come on and find their feet a hell of a lot quicker than others do, and its not necessarily a poor reflection on their talent either.

So maybe we shouldn't be autocratically judging what Player X can do, to what Player Y can do.

Smaller players are able to adapt to AFL far quicker than taller players.

Name me a tall player that has adapted to the rigours of a full AFL season in their first year.

You brought up the mental attributes in relation to Vickery...so, are you saying that the mental attributes of tall players is different to that of short players?

No.

Their roles are different. The physical and mental pressures on their respective roles are as a result different.

And stop trying to read into my posts what clearly isnt intended. I did not bring up the mental attributes in regard to Vickery. I commented that your comments only pertained to the physical aspects regarding Vickery.
