i'm pretty sure i remember most of it.

It was a great night and a great atmosphere.

Next year with more time it'll be much bigger, but everyone did a great job in such a short space of time.

haha you?

Well i'm not sure how much we got for entry, food, darts etc but i know from the raffles and silent auctions that they made over 700.

So hopefully the total got over 1200.

Great base to build from

Kudos to all those that went to so much effort into organising the night. I thought the band were pretty good! Really enjoyed the footage of old games, particularly the game against the eagles in Perth where Northey got involved at 3 quarter time with a trainer which fired the boys up. I had never seen that footage before as I was overseas for about 6 years early 90`s. The look in their faces as they marched of the ground singing Grand ol Flag was amazing and should be played to the current group if they ever need a lift!

I was really disappointed with the turnout however and was concerned when I rocked up around 8 that I may not get in the door thinking that it would be so packed out with passionate supporters concerned about their club`s future. How wrong I was. I understand it was organised in a very short time frame but we have missed out on a great opportunity to show how much this club means to us all! A pat on the back to all involved and all that rocked up and a raised eyebrow to those that knew about it and decided they had better things to do.

Got there a bit late but was better than never. Not many there, but enough for a good night. Thanks to organizers. The door charge was gone by the time i got there but i made up for it by spending about $100 on a couple of great vids and a shirt thats way to small. Was great to meet other young and dees suporters. Well done

Big thanks to everyone that turned up, and all the people that helped organise it.

It was great to hear from Brent Moloney and James Frawley, and just be able to mingle with them.

They also enjoyed watching the old highlights on the big screen, and having a laugh at Frawleys coach for

today, Andy Lovell, and his long flowing blonde mullet.

AWESOME!

What a demonic day to have it!

Just before I think the season proper, hopefully there may be players officials avail' at that time of season.

I was coming until a mate I haven't seen for a few years rocked up at my door half an hour before I was gonna leave. Good to see him but disappointed I missed the bash

Well march 13th could just be a supporter generated event to mark the start of the season.

We need as many nights as we can get

We have a birthday every year

You should have taken him too!

Would've been there but ruptured my achilles and had to prep for surgery Saturday. Needless to say I'd rather have been celebrating with my fellow Melbourne fans...

So hopefully the total got over 1200.

Nice one.

Any estimate on the turnout?

  • Author

We raised over 1400 in the end.

Turnout was about 70. Which obviously wasn't maximum, but next year there will be a lot further warning, so it should be even bigger!

Well done guys. Turned up there with the misses for a a couple of beers and was great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Watching the 2002 highlights on the big screen made me realise, just how far we should have gone that year. With players like, Scotty Thompson, Jolly, Bizzell, Peter Vardy, Powell, TJ, Chells, Schwarter plus plus etc etc all on fire., we really underachieved that year.

Do yourself a favour and go get a copy of that years hightlights....and you will agree.

BB

i have a feeling i might have cut the cake.........dont really remember!!!

def have to do it again........i think more videos and less band too. but thats just me - it was great seeing 2002 - i was in england that year - wow we werent a bad unit at all were we? still.....bring on 2012 haha

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
