Just a quick word on Benny Holland. Alot of you continually bag this guy, but unlike a few current MFC listed players, who will remain nameless, this bloke always gives 110% for the club. Yes he may have his limitations, but his guts and determination cannot be questioned. Give me a bloke like him over a natural talented player who doesnt apply himself or works hard ANYDAY!!!

I think that his last 20 or so games for the MFC over the past year or so have been very consistent and influential. Probably won't have a place at the club next year, but in his limited time on the ground yesterday, he did a lot of great stuff.

Yeah Dutchy played well, I love his passion. Watching his face, he was enjoying himself too. The lady behind me kept making derogatory remarks every time Dutchy lined up (like, "this could end up in Telstra Dome" snigger snigger). But by game's end she loved him too.

Other player who impressed me was Simon Buckley, good effort & pressure.

And what about that young backline of ours? Against Buddy & Roughie and 'Diver' Williams... our backs deserve incredible respect & credit for yesterday's efforts.

Nope, that was Hollands 190th. His target for the year is to pass 200, and best of luck to him because he's really been putting in the work, as always.

I hope he goes into coaching somewhere, maybe an assistant coach one day.

Attitude up there with Rigoni or Brown, if you ask me.

He also might get to 200 with Neitz out and Newton sore and out of form so far this year. Did well on sunday. Credit to him.

Agreed, he makes sure he gets everything he can out of that body of his. Special mention too based on the fact that he hurt his shoulder in the second quarter and went off only to tell Ricky Olarenshaw on the boundary line that he would be coming back on to kick a goal. He kicked 2 in fact.

Big dutch he is such a smart player. If he had the athleticism and skill of a Buddy Franklin or even a Paul Wheatley he would have been a star in this league for many many years

I was also of the opinion it was his 200th......

I asked him about it at Sandy a few weeks back, and he said he hoped they weren't going to leave him sitting one game away.....

Could it have been 200 AFL games?

I like Dutchy......mainly because he is an honest player.......you know what your going to get each time he plays.

Not the most skilled, or the quickest, but I've never seen him shirk a contest or not go in hard.

Speaking of The Rifleman, he put in a couple of real beauties yesterday that would have put Lloydie or Alan Divak to shame. The back-dive in particular had a degree of difficulty of at least 3.3 and he nailed it.

Well done Dutchy-You showed pure grit yesterday both before and after the shoulder popped out. I hope you make it to 200 games, on yesterdays form he could certainly play on next year as a goal square Target. Ben Holland always puts in. Yes he has limitations but he knows that-His kicking yesterday was spot on.

Ahh yes, I think it was AFL games, like state of origin and pre-season comp.

Not happy with the other thread that I started and you added to? :P

It's the second time Holland has injured his shoulder diving on the ball.

P.S. He is built like a brick...

Always rated him - throughout I've been saying hes top 22 material. Hope he gets to 200 games.

When he got injured, he apparantly told Ricky Ollerenshaw that he'd be back on the ground no doubt and that he'd kick another goal for Neita. He kicked two more.

i just hope he can overcome that injury he sustained last week.. was his good sholder though so hopefully will come up...

he was onfire until then... i advocated him since i have been on here..

he is honest and very strong...and like my comments last week he certainly would have made the younger guys walk a bit taller..

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
