Would be one of the stupidest things to ever do, if we are to have any chance at getting back to strength he will be one of our leaders to take us there.

I would expect that he is not where he wanted to be at this stage of his career, looking at Cooney dominating for the Bulldogs would probably frustrate him, but 2007 not only halted his progress and prevented him from building on 2006 but has also sent him backwards and on top of that he now has to deal him the no. 1 tag basically every week.

The very fact that you back in Sylvia, who has shown barely anything (injuries preventing of course), before Brock reduces your credibility to nil.

Have not backed Sylvia in, even he is trade able but at least he had a crack full stop, I always thought brock would be a huge gain for us but unless things change I believe he should not be put off the table, if i'm wrong so be it if he turned it around. Players like Buddy and co only come around once ever now and then but you still need to be in the hunt for them.

Oh by the way this is a forum and people are allowed to have a say or is it only to those who agree with you? remember all it is an opinion and they are like [censored] everone has one.

Trading a player that has shown nothing will get you nothing; trading a player that has shown something and has a high trade value and has (IMO) just about reached his football ability will get you a very good pick. Why on earth would anyone trade Sylvia? Trade him after he has shown something; just like Trav should have been traded back around 03.

Lets add Ben Cousins and see how that changes the mix!

The hawks made hard decisions and traded hard, and look where they are now, there is no sediment in football any more.

You can probably put that down to improved ground drainage technology

OK perhaps i worded that wrong, but the point is we need Brock in our side going forward. We've got to build on something and the only way to breed experienced players around the club is to keep them around long enough. If we trade them once they get tagged and can't shake it then we'll never end up with a list to take on the best, in two years time everyones going to say the same thing about Jones, but you have to stick fat ith players and allow them to grow.

And sure in hindsight trading Trav at the end of 2002 would've been great, he came in the top 5 of the Brownlow for Christs sake so we would've got a top draft pick, but how could they justify it at the time!?

Nah we need Brock- he has disappointed me a little for sure apart from his Ripper against the saints 2 yr ago. But if he was in a good Team He would go mad with Quality Targets. Look at Travis J. last saturday night. Now that was a quality game-over 4 quarters!!! I was furious!!!

You are right about Trav; but Sylvia is the same sort of inconsistent flash in the pan player as Trav, maybe we will learn from our mistakes.

I get frustrated at TJ as much as the next person but that's just plain insulting comparing TJ with Sylvia.

TJ has played many BOG games for us and Col has what... still showing flashes here and there.

I've given up on Sylvia being a elite player. Just hoping for best 22 player now.

here is a question when trav was in the mid field how much better did brock play.. and heres another is daniel kerr a dud alll of a sudden? do you really think anyplayer can be good by themselves? or with a heap of kids.. jones is good but still a kid he will get better as he mutures and then be able to assist brock even more.. but dont bag the guy he doesnt need negative pressure but encouragemnet fo r holding that posistion for us... look at how junior has dropped off too..

There is some Big stuff at west coast we don"t yet know about i believe. That team has completely lost its Mojo. Amazing

Natinui is no cert to be a Melbourne Draft Pick.

Two words TRADE BAIT

The Answer's not to trade away our young guns but to add to the depth of our inside/outsiders, talented kids as he is are hard to find & he will improve with further experience & better quality midfield depth.

This is why Daniel Rich as an hard as inside/outside damaging goalkicking mid is just what we need desperately!

Look at the Saints, they stopped adding to their mids through being up the ladder & a lack of trading for picks to bolster their midfield...

We have an un believable opportunity to add to the good quality of our kids as we are underperforming in a glitch in our transitional list... We must take advantage of this short downperiod now as the draft will soon be pillaged in 2010 on.

Let's not shoot our feet again, like last year.

Cooney has only really started to stepup this year in any meaningfull way & is obviously supported by the good form of his whole team, much easier for him this year.

They were still able to get within a kick of a decent team though.

We have had one winning half of footy against Freo, so i still think we are in the box seat. I am more worried about the Bombers.

Yeah that was a shocking game though. 6000 people, it was surreal to watch. And as good as they are i still just can't take the roos Seriously. To me they are like that real old sick dog that just won't die....tick tick

The Weagles are after Daniel Rich, & are willing to trade bigtime for him as I hear.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May
