While a great marketable player like Natanui may address this down the track, the club is losing corporate dollars due to their current performances now.

Short/medium term off-field needs addressing before long-term onfield at the moment.

i actually don't mind winning as many games as possible, as long as the youngsters play a prominent role in winning.

i don't want to see yze, holland, white, robertson jmac etc etc in the same team, having freak games and winning. It achieves nothing.

yesterday we had a 7-8 senior players/ 14-15 youngish players. IMO that's the right mix for the next 12 rounds. Then its 22 kids for the last few.

Then forcing a couple of trades through use of the number 1 PSD pick and ultimately taking a player with it and then adding a raft of young players taken in the draft at 17, 18 and later picks plus Rookies. Jack Grimes declaring his fitness and Rivers, Newton, Morton and Dunn announcing their gain of 5-8 K's of muscle.

Throw in Board changes, a new summer training base at Casey Fields and the new stadium getting closer to completion.

I think we would all be on cloud nine with anticipation.

I don't think the club is losing any corporate support at all. These deals are generally signed for a 2 to 3 year contract and any negative movements will be quickly replaced if we go into a new season having just acquired a couple of gun kids in the November and pre-season drafts. Added to that a list that would be much more confident than what we had this year.

It's not such a hard thing to realise that we're currently going through a transitional phase with a large number of senior players who have retired or are about to retire, but the if the footy world sees us getting more talent in and developing the talent we already have on the list then this poor season will be quickly forgotten. The Hawks are a prime example, sure they had a couple of terrible years under Clarkson but that has all but been forgotten, in fact the general consensus is that they did the right thing.

I think the most important thing now is the long term success of the team, let McNamee worry about the finances, that's what he's paid to do, but let bailey build a team for the future.

From my experience with companies and their sponsorship dollar I believe the only thing they are interested is exposure for their brand. I still believe that getting to top pick and luring a 'star' from another club will do more for their exposure than winning 8 more games in the rest of the season and finishing middle of the pack.

We simply have to get top pick. We will not draw support without a very good team and we need 2-3 elite players I reckon. We need a few top 5 picks to build this team around.

People love calling Natanui a freak and pointing out his phenomenal leap and intense play, but there's also plenty of comments about relatively mediocre essential skills and footy smarts.

Pick 2 is presumed to be this Daniel Rich guy, declared an out-and-out gun midfielder by all who have anything to say on him. Not one comment about a flaw. Flawless?

Realistically, what we need is an across the board 5-10% improvement in kicking and handballing efficency and team coordination. Draft picks don't get you that.

I agree. I cant get my head around this either. I want to win as many games as possible & pick up the best player with whatever pick we're dealt. Our supporter/member base will only grow in the long term, by having constant success. Success bring dollars through the gate & sponsorships.

I honestly think we have turned a corner. Bailey is really starting to work out who his weapons are, and who is disposable.

The emergence of Wonemarri, the return of Rivers and Matty Bate.. very important.

No we wont make Finals, but we will get better and we will cause some boilovers along the way.

We've had 5 years of playing inferior footballers playing inferior outside (non contact) style football that has deeinspired our supporters so much that we can't even get more than 20,000 to a game when the club is on one knee begging. We need to

add to our list another high quality mid like a R Palmer/ Ebert/ or from this year Daniel Rich. We also need to grab a tall power forward around David Schwartz's size (195+ cms), or if you like to refer back to Lachlan Henderson last year, not sure yet who'll be around for this draft.

The Freo win was a great win but I wouldn't get too carried away just yet. We play Adelaide in a fortnight I think we will get a better indication of where we are at then cause we traditionaly get belted over there no matter what type of form we are in. The confidence we gained from Freo could quickly get evaporated.

There wouldn't be a supporter who doesn't want Naita and I'm no different but I still feel that we will have the same problems in the middle even with him there. I think our problem isn't the ruck White has been good and P.J and Jamar (still useles around the ground) have been solid. If we can find a quality midfielder to help out McLean then I think we could have a dramatic improvement. Jones isn't the answer he is a calssic meat & potatoes midfielder like McDonald he will be a good solid footballer but that is all I think Rich will be a better fit for our side but if we get the chance we won't pass up on a player who can jump 400m.

We must bring in all the kids by the end of the year Maric, Martin, Newton, Buckley and co.

No Carroll, Wheatley and Yze.

No Robbo, Holland and Neitz in the same team.
