Bruce has never been is not and never will be an elite midfielder.

MFC does not have elite midfielder. McLean Jones and Tj (last year) were and are not elite midfielders but they get tagged week in and week out.

Bruce is often playing defensive tags. Tagging roles aim to reduce possession of the ball

I dont know where you get the stats of his effective disposal but his disposal over time has undermined his game.

However, yesterday his disposal was good throughout the game but I know he has good and bad days....

Ahh.. there was a magic moment when Bruce was an elite midfielder. Those three rounds before he got his shoulder crunched and missed half a season. 8 wholly deserved brownlow votes in three games. Yet to get that form back, though really the only difference was that his disposal was that much more effective.

He is a utility. He does all sorts of jobs, many of them close tagging roles, and he goes and gets the ball himself on a regular basis. He's also kicked seven goals in a game.

Bruce doesn't deserve even a portion of the insane criticism he cops on here. Classic example of 'supporters' who are bigger fans of their own voice than of the club. (at least after a few beers)

I also thought Warnock looked alright last week. Rivers was definitely a stand-out down back though, and I'm sure he made everyone's job a bit easier.

What someone like Colin Garland must think if he ever dared to read some of the posts about himself over the past few weeks. A kid, still learning the trade, and who has played a handful of games judged by know all supporters that he isn't going to make it. Pure gold!

These boards would be quite dull if players didn't post opinions on which players they thought would and would not make it etc. It'd also be pretty boring if the only opinions on the future of younger players was positive.

Basically the players have set a standard and i expect that standard to be honoured from now on. Norm Smith would have been proud of that. Maybe just maybe our season is alive, wish there was not this stupid game on next week. Don't want the team to go stale.

Yeah - didn't we run into some form just before the bye last year, too?
