If you read about Sally Pearson's training regime this summer you would laugh at Sylvia and any concept that he might be an elite sportsman. But you might add most of the AFL to that list as well, I think Sally may b ahead of most but doesn't have the contract to show it.

I can remember marking punch cards in pencil for the girls to punch out and put through the mainframe computer at Swinburne Tech in the 70's. You would then get printout of the code I think. That mainframe that took up half a room would have had about a megabyte of grunt and memory is my guess. Oh and I did COBOL and some fix up programming for Y2K if you can remember that impending disaster back in 1999!

Loved both Macca. I had totally forgotten about Conquistador from my early teens, brought back some memories. And the Bruno track is outstanding, anything up beat with plenty of brass gets me in, aka Style Council and I knew a mates brother who,played trombone with Kids in the Kitchen all those years ago. Yeah you are right you tend to like the type of music, big guitar or plenty of brass that was around when you were young. PS I reckon the Missus will love the Bruno track that is her type of song, being a teacher she is always trying to stay in tune with the kids to some degree at least.

I remember that draft and when we went past Selwood I thought gee if I was a recruiter I would play safe and take a Selwood. The recruiters must be super confident and this Maric kid must be good. As it often happens it pays to play the percentages. In Selwood we would have got a real soldier. In Maric we got an immature kid who wasn't ready for AFL. An interview or two may have picked that weakness up.

NB you are right if Turnbull gets the gong there will not be an ETS but I believe he will give Greg Hunt the green light to actually do something with direct action. I think you are on to it Carlos. I think Col has just done what he has done every year with MFC. Happy to work in the gym on his physique but less likely to do the endurance work. He was always carrying something in preseason and that is when the real endurance work is done. This was tolerated at MFC as well as his habit of showing up occasionally under the weather. We should have called it earlier but then I remember the bloke we did act on many years ago for being [censored] at training, Martin Pike! Big mistake there by Balmy. Col reminds me of Jackovitch. The Ox often relates the story of Jacko saying he was injured preseason and couldn't train but would then do some unbelievable things while playing cricket. The biggest difference between Jacko and Col is that Jackovitch had genuine X factor, mega talent. Col I have never been convinced of. Physically yes if he worked hard but mentally he can often be a dumb footballer.

BBO my understanding is that royal protocol says that one can toast Her Majesty with any alcoholic or non alcoholic libation except a cocktail drink and it is not good form to smoke either.
