Was that what it was for? I looked at the replay at the ground and I thought it was Bugg that was no where near within 10 metres and I thought Garland was on the mark but had not moved. Totally baffling decision along with another dozen or so rubbish calls and total inability of umpires to see throws executed straight in front of them. I reckon there were at least 6 throws to advantage, the umps finally picked out one in the last quarter.

Hardwick lives to fight another week. Great effort, could be the first of 9 in a row.

Hate to nitpick W45 but Royal Commissions don't find anyone guilty of anything, they report on their findings and may advise that matters are referred to the courts for judgements. I am reminded of this by the Costigan Royal Commission into the Painters and Dockers Union which backfired on Fraser and lead to the bottom of the harbour tax rorting by the wealthy and of course the damning allegations against Kerry Packer. That volume of the Costigan report has been buried for decades, it will make interesting reading one day if it is ever released no doubt. Upon Packer's death the likes of the abominable Singleton and Shockjock Jones rounded on Costigan for what he did to Saint Kerry and their sincere hope he was burning in hell, being too lazy or stupid to work out if he was dead or not. Costigan's response was to say all he did was receive evidence from other parties, he made no judgement on our Kerry! Anyway I digress Wrecker, but I am surprised that a stickler for detail like yourself could get this detail so wrong but then again you have got so much else wrong in your failure to interpret climate data I should not be surprised at all.

Too busy following the Eurovision finals Maple. Calliope from Macadonia is on at the moment, she has me totally mesmerised and she has a reasonable voice as well. Our girl is due up next after the Lithuanian pretty boy.

I can tell you things are hotting up in the Eurovision finals, I reckon we are in with a chance!

It is interesting that we have 2 greats of the games whose records will probably never be beaten. Norm Smith involved in 10 flags for MFC, 4 as a key forward, 6 as a coach. RDB, six as a player with us and 4 as coach with other clubs. Two extraordinary MFC people, the like of which we will not likely see again. -
Yes Barry I can be precise, the session barely went for an hour, the usual routines, not much to report really. No Spencer, no Dawes, no Brayshaw, didn't see Trenners or ANB for that matter but I may have missed him. The Prince running laps. Some on the injured list were there, e.g. JKH looking fit and Vanders as well. Didn't notice Oscar either or Dunn but I am not great at picking up everyone on the field.

Didn't see him at training this morning now that you mention him

Are there any Dees fans who are teachers?

Uncle do we need to implement Gonski? -
If he is off home what would we get for him? MFC don't have the option to shop him to the highest bidder, they have to deal with his potential request to go home to Freo with the only other bidder being WC maybe. What does Freo think they need to pay for him, their first rounder maybe or maybe not? We will get something just not sure it will be equitable. At the end of the season I would demand an answer from Hogan, if we get the same rubbish response about needing to just concentrate on his footy, just start negotiations with Freo while they have a low pick and get this sideshow over and done with. We have some young talent at the club now and we need players fully committed to the cause, not young forwards holding the club to ransom.

Off to see The Cure on the 28th of July at Rod Laver. Should be fun, hope there are a few songs from their Disintegration Album.

Wrecker stop nit picking I didn't change my tune at all. The Tasmanian ecosystems in question according to scientists have been destroyed by the fires, they won't be regenerating because they evolved over millions of years without the influence of fire, unlike eculypt forests that evolved with fire and developed ways to withstand fire and regenerate after fires. Seems like a bit of a problem to me that ecosystems that have not experienced fires of this magnitude for thousands to millions of years are now destroyed but of course using your logic this is not a problem because the world is billions of years old and whatever has happened has likely happened before at some stage so stay calm citizens, sit on the fence and do nothing, it is just nature doing its thing as it has always done. Let's ignore all the evidence that the rate of deterioration in our environment, that is the fundamentals that we and countless other species need to survive, and what is causing it, is unprecedented in the history we know. But hey don't worry it has all happened before at least once in the last few billion years.ACCORDING TO YOUR ARGUMENT!

Welcome aboard DC your detailed knowledge of ancient history will be invaluable on our tour as you will be able to describe all the ancient sites that we won't be stopping at. We can only travel at night, will be avoiding towns and bunkering down during the day under camouflage. This is when you can do you lectures on Byzantine art and Assyrian architecture.

Welcome aboard Bossdog for our big adventure, unfortunately I am sensing some reticence from other DLanders. I am surprised at the lack of risk takers amongst us all. This might mean we will struggle for numbers. I need a minimum tour group to cover the cost of the conversion of the armoured personnel carrier that will carry up to 12 Dlanders in comfort and safety across the Middle East and then there is the added costs of the armoured tank and support convoy. And I have negotiated the absolute lowest bargain prices for air cover from the Russian airforce to ensure our safety across the Syrian leg of our epic journey. I will be in touch.

Native pine forests that are vulnerable to fire that have existed for hundreds of thousands of years, made up of individual King Billy Pine trees that are 1000 to 1500 years old that grew so old without fire means that these forests haven't experienced fire very often. Is this logic too much for you to comprehend? your mantra that OZ forests (eucalypts) have always burned does not count here!

What a coincidence Ernest! I am currently putting together the itinerary to recreate the 30th anniversary of my epic overland backpacking journey from Cairo to Istanbul of 1987! DLanders are more than welcome to join me. Ahh the memories, dysentery in Cairo, climbing Mount Sinai, then the rickety boat to Aqaba, getting bogged in sand in Wadi Rum in a rented 4 wheel drive that turned out to be a 2 wheel drive, no drive shaft to the front wheels, just a minor oversight I know. Then on to the Hotel Karnak in Amman, Jordan, no heating even though it is snowing, leaky toilet systems but luminous light switches so you could see them in the dark which was important because there was never any power available at night anyway but the staff were very polite. Off to Petra and asking the owner of the Musa Springs hostel to fix the leaky water pipe outside only to be told it is Moses' Spring where he tapped the rock twice to provide water to the tribes. Then it is off to Syria the land of stale flat bread and dry homus for breakfast, lunch and tea with a side visit to Palmyra, well what's left of it, then on to Damascus and Alleppo and then a welcome Adani kebab in Turkey. Come on who isn't up for this? Let me know so I can book us all in for a 2017 journey of a lifetime!

I think some of the blame needs to shifted to the lack of defence up the ground and our game plan of zoning down back.
