Good heavens Pickett do you have no respect for the recently departed? Our good Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward (née Anderson) passed away just last week. Yes we were adversaries at times but we also had a certain rapport, things could have been different but there just too many strings to untangle to make things work! I have been in mourning since I heard the news. The mere thought of the Uncle drooling over Mi Lady makes me sick to my stomach. And I suspect DC has similar urges as well! Do any of you have one iota of moral decency? While I am at it is anyone interested in purchasing a pink roller with a few miles on the clock?

Interesting Bolton hasn't felt the need to spend a season building their defensive mind sets to reduce the scores against like us. He has just gone with the modern game plan of taking the game on, moving the ball quickly, running in numbers and tackling and chasing when you haven't got it. It looks simple when it works but we have made it look very complex and difficult.

Could not agree more, we don't need any shyte like that. -
DC being a long time Dees supporter it goes without saying, of course it's crumbling.

BERNIE VINCE (Appreciation Thread #1245)

Wouldn't you love an Ingerson down back again? Great defensive player. -
I was at training last week and his bandaged finger never touched a footy in flight. He took everything with his other hand. I hope that was purely precautionary but we have no way of knowing the extent of the injury. We must assume it is nothing.

HT wasn't it the Suns in round 1? Didn't think we would win but we did and it reflected accurately that the Suns were average without a fit Gazza.

Tony Turnbull has now acted decisively in calling what will be a DD, I have no doubt because he doesn't really want the Senate to pass the 2 workplace bills and hopes the senators won't. Now as he said the time for playing games is over and it is now of vital national importance that we have this election to determine what? You might think the issues of national importance might be to do with fixing our budget or education inequalities or health or defence or the environment and climate change or the financial sector scandals that are uncovered every week or the tax embargo Being conducted by businesses of all sizes, both local and foreign. Well your our dead wrong, the biggest issue facing the nation is the CFMEU and the risk to the "new economy" these thugs pose! Their activities are imperilling the productivity of the construction sector. Last time I walked through the CBD there was a frenzy of apartment building, fuelled by Asian investors and decoupled from local demand for that type of housing, a property bubble in the making! Tony Turnbull's interviews yesterday equalled any of the self serving dribble ever uttered by The Abbott or Johnny H. A total fact free diatribe about the disastrous impact of unions full of nasty, foul mouthed thugs that so shocked the royal commissioner who is more used to dealing with well spoken, private schooled lawyers. This is all putting a break on the new economy, whatever that is! Nothing to do with science or communications if we are to take TT's previous actions versus his rhetoric re CSIRO and the NBN. I really thought we might get something better from Malcolm

I am copping a few SMS from opposition supporter friends saying we are the next premiers, cough, cough, joke, joke! What were they saying? -
You are headed for Jerusalem Moons? The Stations of the Cross next Friday?

Hey the Vics are in the Shield Final but who cares these days? Used to be a big deal, not anymore.

Outstanding illogical spray, come mad rant, Uncle! One of the best I have witnessed in recent times. This perhaps sums up in so few illogical sentences why we log on each day to this site!

Fffed if I am waiting three hours for her to appear! How many times has she pulled that one on the Oz tour? Total disregard for her fans and people really, she can go jump in my opinion.

DC my thought is the ad is very good but it cost a few $. But when and where does the ad get a run during the season with the average punter? In past years I have seen a number of clubs produce video promotions but where do they run after that? What is the point of this?

What? Now come on Ernest you are not dead, why you and me had a long conversation not three months ago in The Floridetta Bar about the virtues of socialism and what bait to use if you are chasing marlin, I remember it well. Admittedly I had downed a few daiquiris for breakfast and we met for lunch and come to think of it you didn't say a lot but you were alive and I do have a few selfies of us at the bar as I remember. I think we even discussed this LBWYO issue everyone is going on about lately!

I think you mean redundant?

Channel 7 news piece on Jack T's comeback last night mentioned he might be chance to have a run in an intra club to be played Good Fiday at Goschs! Hope they are reporting accurately.

An echidna would be more appropriate DC.

I thought they missed the obvious marketing opportunity to set up a goal kicking shoot out between Hoges and The Ox at the G or at Gosch's after training for the TV news and in time for today's membership drive. I am sure the Ox would have been up for a bit of fun and attention.

Trengove looks super fit and is ticking every box at training. He looks the goods but yes the proof will be when he plays in the VFL and then the seniors. Really if his speed is back I can't see why he wouldn't regain his old ability to play at AFL level. Fingers crossed, we need some good luck.

Saty I got there early and was over near the rehab group with Dawes and Van the Man doing some light kicking and Van doing sprints and Dawes sent off to do laps on the scooter, both looked to be moving Ok. Kent at one stage was talking to the assistant about a groin problem and lack of power on one side. Weiderman and Salem were doing some kicking drills and Weiderman looked to moving OK but Salem looks to me like he has a break on his right hand ring finger, it was heavily bandaged and at no stage of the drills did he try to mark a ball, he was working with Cross who took all the marks and would then handball to Salem to kick. And Salem took every handball receive with his left hand. Garland didn't look well at all but as you say if he had a corky that would explain his inability to do any running without looking very pained.

Jeremy Cameron reported for high contact
Earl Hood replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Looked at the tape. He left the ground to make the hit, it was head high and near maximum damage, broken jaw. They are quoting careless already well he made a decision, more like deliberate. He should be looking at 3 or 4 but I am sure they will find a way to make it one or two. Either way if he is playing against us the whole system is stuffed.
