Yes where is Deeluded?

Yes agreed DC, I think Larry Storch only died last year aged in his mid 90's. Not sure how Calamity Jane is going these days? But I need to add McHale's Navy for balance, Captain Bingham and Ensen Parker was it? But my oversight was to say US situation comedy! Brittish humour is another story, we had numerous comedy classics like Monty Python, Not the 1948 Show, Not Only But Also, Q8, Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister, the Two Ronnies, the Royals, ABFAB, Black Adder, The Office, it goes on and on. British humour at its best is the best. I don't believe you can top Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in full flight, And I have not included Please Sir, Mind your Language, On the Buses or Benny Hill. Got to set the taste bar somewhere!

It would be an interesting experiment that is impossible to do I know but if Cale was drafted tomorrow into our current development system I wonder how he might turn out? I suspect with the best development he might have been a valuable player. I always remember his first games and he looked the goods and then it all deteriorated from there. But I never believed he got much support at MFC, in fact I remember he wrote a letter about his training week one year where he seemed to be a lost soul, not knowing who his assistant coaches should be etc. in other words he was on his own. Sink or swim back then.

I am devastated that Alan Young, Wilbur Post has died aged 96! Was there a better sitcom in the 60's? And he was great in the Time Machine with Rod Taylor. They just don't do sitcoms these days that have such ridiculous scenarios that work so well. The Addams Family, Munsters, Mr Ed, Batman, Get Smart, has TV comedy ever been better than in the 60's?

No the Earl of Hood to you and you already have one foot in the grave Professor so I would show a bit more respect, but we digress. The main issue is Salem and I take it that such a problem would explain his indifferent, but not hopeless form? It seems he can train and play but he has not improved as we all expected; so he can perform but lacks energy?

Hey I am an Earl, beware of your head my friend!

Must be Dr Chook?

I have just completed a comprehensive task risk assessment and a triple bottom line analysis of my proposed Cairo to Constantinople odyssey. Looks like it is dead in the water. Can't find an insurer to take us on I am afraid. I am now proposing a boat trip from Cairo to Constantinople. How we actually get to Cairo is still worrying me but leave it with me.

I can't work it out. In the first half today he made space on the members wing several times but our backs kept looking inboard or to switch to the southern wing often with minimal success. One kick to him in space forward of the wing and he will set up an easy shot for one of the forwards. It should not be a matter of Watts Ellington loud enough to be noticed, it should be part of the game plan. Half backs should be looking automatically for where Watts should be on the flanks, if he isn't free, next option is Hogan who is usually being double teamed. Get the ball to Watts 6 times a match inside 50 and you get 5.1 on the board and he will set others up as he did today. SEN commentators kept mentioning today how many times he was burnt, could have had 5 goals himself.

I don't think it is sustainable WA, he is too valuable a forward commodity to risk getting taken out by a big gorilla ruck down the track. He did well today but he did look vulnerable against the likes of Martin, who is not a mongrel b**stard like some so he survived unscathed.

I have the same problem these days too Sir!

Try Meth Coke circa 2008 just 2 years after winning a flag. They dissolved quick smart and were down picking up first round draft picks. Past masters of the Tank.

I beg your pardon?

Clayton Oliver signs new 2 year deal.
Earl Hood replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don't disagree rpfc, good strategy maybe but just a bit odd. The last time we were desperate to extend first year players was in 2010 and as I remember things Trengove signed on but not Scully, so I believe MFC is well aware that Hoges is going to be a problematic signing. -
Yes this has now become a problem, how do we safely get to the starting point, Cairo! I may have to bring forward the starting date of the tour because we may now have to go by boat to Port Said, that will mean we have to leave about a month earlier than first thought. I am also determined to push on from Constantinople to meet up with Hemingway and Uncle Bitters in Spain in time for the running of the Bulls! This is turning into a logistical nightmare I admit. Anyone heard from Bossdog by the way, I had him pencilled in to be forward point for the tour through Syria to pick up on the odd IED before our tour arrives.

Not sure why we are signing on first year players for extensions just 8 games into their career, is it just to Create this impression of every Dee signing up for the future to put more pressure on Hoges? -
Don't worry DC we will meet plenty of Bedouins on our grand Cairo to Constantinople tour. We are due to head off in August, a balmy 45C by day, so bring the sun screen. I hope you are reading up on your Middle Eastern medieval history for our tour.

Sorry for the delayed response to your post, Uncle. It has been a very busy few weeks lately. In terms of my company, the much lauded "Hood institute" I have had to institute a reshape of our organisation to promote the new talent and move on the older, shall we say, old talent, if you get my drift. Look it is obvious that the Hood Institute needed to refresh the company gene pool and we must stop working in silos. The Hood Institute needs to be an agile and innovative organisation at all costs, so our mantra is change is never ending. It is part of our DNA, unless it involves me and my annual bonus of course. It also means having some challenging conversations with Parker and Hudson that maybe they should look at other opportunities while Conchita is the obvious future for the institute given her people skills and I think she speaks English as well. That would be a bonus. As as for our travel odyssey, yes Bossdog, DC and I have so far signed up for the Cairo to Constantinople trac so it will take sometime.

Nathan Jones on AFL On the Couch - 16 May

Can't we keep it simple, the equilateral triangle defence? But who would be the hypotenuese? -
W45 I hate to nit pick yet again on one of your posts but you yourself quoted Einstein as saying himself, that his theories could never be proved to be correct, so I don't think you can then just quote Albert to "prove a point"! You can make a point perhaps. Again sorry to nitpick but you use it all the time to divert a line of argument that you don't like so please chose your words more carefully.

Maple surely the 70's was a high point of cinema, except for the 60's that is. The 70's gave us Saturday Night Fever, the Big Bus, The life of Brian and Flying High just missed being released in 1980 here. It doesn't get much better than that, except the 1960's and Lawrance of Arabia, Sparticus, Dr Strangelove, 2001 a Space Odessey etc. Yes things film wise have been deteriorating ever since!

Yes I think Frost is the next experiment as a KPB. If he can read the play he should be a good intercept mark or spoil and run off his opponent given his athletic abilities. As well Hoges should do a regular stint at CHB as part of his development, even start there at the start just get into the game. I wonder if TMac should be playing more off the wing and running forward, he has a tank and certainly looks comfortable kicking a goal. Sunday's running goal looked very natural for him and he has kicked set shots before, looking very relaxed. We may be able to do this experimentation once Dawes is fit and playing consistently or the Weed or Hulett are ready for a gig in the Ones.

Yes and I don't understand why he is not the go to forward, get the ball to him just 6 times a game inside 50 m and you have 5.1 on the board, whereas Jesse is less reliable as we saw on Sunday. Of course Watts can't be the main target all the time as he then gets maximum attention from the Opposition. Jesse remains the main man but if JW is making a lead out on or past 50 it should be honoured more often.
